I’ve lost since been surprised by the callousness of the left when it comes to the disabled. As as disabled vet I have personally witnessed the distained they have for us The other day, long since outlived his usefulness among men Joe Klein of Time Magazine maligned Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer’s quaudraplegia as being a disability against truth.
“He became Ground Zero among the neo-cons, but he’s vastly smarter than most of them,” said Time’s Joe Klein, an admirer and critic who praised Krauthammer’s “writing skills and polemical skills” as “so far above almost anybody writing columns today.”
“There’s something tragic about him too,” Klein said, referring to Krauthammer’s confinement to a wheelchair, the result of a diving accident during his first year of medical school. “His work would have a lot more nuance if he were able to see the situations he’s writing about.”
Klein tries to blame it on “neo-cons” but the fact is that he’s a punk, and a punk of the worst kind. More than that he is a cripple in intellect, intergrity and honor.
As a member for the DAV (Disabled Veterans of America) and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) I call upon disabled vets to storm the email boxes and phones of Time Magazine and demand not only a retraction, but an apology. We will also be asking that Klein be suspended and or fired.
To help this along we will identify the advertisers of Time Magazine to ask for a public condemnation of Klein’s article and how they feel about supporting a magazine that says such despicable things against the disabled.
For those who think this is an endeavor that won’t succeed, I will remind them that myself and few other bloggers caused mass cancellations of subscriptions to US Weekly over their abused of Sarah Palin’s downs syndrome child under the banner, “Babies, Lies and Scandal”.
We plan to do the same for Time Magazine. Beginning tomorrow I will contact supermarkets as well as Walmarts and other venues where Time Magazine is carried to ask them for their position on carrying a magazine that employs a such “person” as Klein.
