CNN Hit’s Rock Bottom on Obama, Touts Steady Disapproval Number

Yeah you read that right.

CNN

“Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama didn’t score any political points with his speech on jobs to a joint session of Congress last Thursday. According to a new CNN/ORC International poll released Tuesday, the president’s approval rating stands at 43 percent, virtually unchanged from the 45 percent approval rating in the previous CNN poll.
Although this is not the lowest number of those who say they approve of how Obama is handling his job-he reached 42 percent one year ago-the number who disapprove of the president reached its highest during his presidency in the poll.

The survey reveals that 55 percent say they do not approve of how Obama is handling his duties in the White House and the number of Americans who think he is a strong leader has dropped to a new low.

“A familiar pattern in public opinion on Obama again asserts itself,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “Americans don’t like Obama’s track record on major issues while they continue to like him personally.”

I guess when you have nothing else to grab you grab your head and place it between your legs.

Classy. MSNBC has been on a political bash Bush, Bush policy, war on terror fest, all morning. Likely to piss people off so they’ll be even less watching this horrible leftist channel.

Here’s a screen capture showing how they remember 9/11 and the war on terror. Not by remember the multitude of sacrifices of those who did right but on the minuscule who did wrong.

Disgusting.

The Politico ALSO Openly gives to Candidates

You have to wonder why the Politico is teeing off on pundits like Keith Olbermann giving to candidates. Following on their previous story they’re now running a story about Joe Scarborough and Sean Hannity.

In case you didn’t know John F. Harris and Jim VandeHei who helped launch The Politico both heavily support different politico causes and Vandehei gave max donations to Barack Obama.

In fact a huge portion of The Politico’s financing comes from Washington connections.

Chief funder of The Politico, Albritton President Frederick Ryan (who gives heavily to GOP candidates), said, “Politico will generate its revenue through an advertising-supported business model, with many of the ads coming from trade associations, lobbyists, government contractors and other companies looking to attract the attention of Congress.”

Media Maleficence - Anchorage CBS Affiliate Caught on Voicemail Conspiring Against Joe Miller **UPDATE: Meet the Female Reporter!

Busted. Via Big Government:

“The following voice mail message was inadvertently left on the cell phone of Joe Miller campaign spokesperson Randy DeSoto.

The voices are believed to be those of the news director for CBS Anchorage affiliate KTVA, along with assignment editor Nick McDermott, and other reporters, openly discussing creating, if not fabricating, two stories about Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, Joe Miller.

The following is a transcript of a call recorded after CBS Alaska affiliate KTVA called Joe Miller’s Senate campaign spokesperson.

The call failed to disconnect properly. It was later authenticated by McDermott, who sent a text to Randy DeSoto stating, “Damn iPhone… I left you a long message. I thought I hung up. Sorry.”

The Alaska attorney general should be asked to look into KTVA for election tampering at the least. There is no doubt that the law was broken, and should call into question every story KTVA has published about Miller, Palin or any other conservative candidate.

Additionally Nick McDermott is the assignment editor, so the question to ask is will he be asked to step down or be fired as clearly this is a violation of journalistic standards.

When you call ask to speak with News Director: Staci Feger. Her email is [email protected]

UPDATE: Greg Sargeant, the WAPO’s chief muckracker tries a defense with a deceptive headline, “Alaska station says Breitbart Web site audio attack is bogus”. Which isn’t what they said.

“It’s unfortunate that this recording has happened. It’s unfortunate because it does not accurately reflect the journalistic standards of our newsroom and the garbled context will no doubt leave more questions than answers. The Miller campaign’s analysis of the recording is incorrect in many material ways ranging from personnel involved in the conversation, the interpretation of conversation snippets and the reported transcript of the perceived garbled conversation.

“While the recording is real, the allegations are untrue. The recording was the result of a cell phone not being hung up after a call was placed to Randy DeSoto, Joe Miller campaign spokesperson, Thursday afternoon to discuss Joe Miller’s appearance on that evening’s newscast. That phone call was placed near the end of a coverage planning meeting in our newsroom regarding that evening’s Miller rally in downtown Anchorage. The group of KTVA news personnel was reviewing potential “what-if” scenarios, discussing the likelihood of events at the rally and how KTVA might logistically disseminate any breaking news.

“The perception that this garbled, out of context recording may leave is unfortunate, but to allege that our staff was discussing or planning to create or fabricate stories regarding candidate Miller is absurd. The complete conversation was about what others might be able to do to cause disruption within the Miller campaign, not what KTVA could do.”

Sargent should have left this alone, but it’s typical of his usual idiocy. It’s pretty clear by the audio what was meant, we don’t need KTVA ( a C-BS affiliate no less) trying to explain it away.

UPDATE: Check out the comments on KTVA’s explanation. To sum up, nobody’s buying it. I’ve contacted CBS News to get their take on this to see if they will take action or try to explain it away. Given the flap they got over Rathergate you would think they would do better than to make excuses and denials. I’ll let you know when they respond.

By the way I’m working on getting the female reporter on the tape identified.

UPDATE: Obama mouthpiece, Ben Smith at the Obama Apologetic (aka The Politico), plays the same game as Sergeant and invokes *snort* Media Matters. Dude are you seriously defending this?

Big Government provides the appropriate smack down of the lame excuses.

UPDATE: Via an anonymous tipster who works at KTVA, by email.

“Just want you to know that not all of us here have forgot our journalist creed. The female reporter on the recording is Natalie Travis.”

So meet the female reporter in question.

Ny Times Hit Piece on Justice Thomas’s Wife Fails to Mention Liberal Wing’s Activism

The Ny (Traitor/Slime) Times:

“RICHMOND, Va. — As one of the keynote speakers here Friday at a state convention billed as the largest Tea Party event ever, Virginia Thomas gave the throng of more than 2,000 activists a full-throated call to arms for conservative principles.

For three decades, Mrs. Thomas has been a familiar figure among conservative activists in Washington — since before she met her husband of 23 years, Justice Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court. But this year she has emerged in her most politically prominent role yet: Mrs. Thomas is the founder and head of a new nonprofit group, Liberty Central, dedicated to opposing what she characterizes as the leftist “tyranny” of President Obama and Democrats in Congress and to “protecting the core founding principles” of the nation.

It is the most partisan role ever for a spouse of a justice on the nation’s highest court, and Mrs. Thomas is just getting started. “Liberty Central will be bigger than the Tea Party movement,” she told Fox News in April, at a Tea Party rally in Atlanta.

But to some people who study judicial ethics, Mrs. Thomas’s activism is raising knotty questions, in particular about her acceptance of large, unidentified contributions for Liberty Central. She began the group in late 2009 with two gifts of $500,000 and $50,000, and because it is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit group, named for the applicable section of the federal tax code, she does not have to publicly disclose any contributors. Such tax-exempt groups are supposed to make sure that less than half of their activities are political.

Mrs. Thomas, known as Ginni, declined through a spokeswoman to be interviewed without an agreement not to discuss her husband. In written responses to questions, Sarah Field, Liberty Central’s chief operating officer and general counsel, said that Mrs. Thomas is paid by Liberty Central, with the compensation set by the group’s board, and that the group has “internal reviews and protections to ensure that no donor causes a conflict of interest for either Ginni or her husband.”

Of course there is no ethical delima at all here. Justice Thomas’s wife lives in a free country and as such is free to voice her views and to join any group she wishes. Of course none of this shows direct involvement of Justice Thomas.

However the Times fails to mention the direct activism of Justices Ginsberg. Via Discover the Networks:

“After Democrats had won control of Congress in the November 2006 mid-term elections, Ginsburg opined that the relationship between lawmakers and judges was generally better when Congress was in Democratic hands. At a 2007 judges’ conference on judicial independence, she said, “Particularly since the 2006 election, I am pleased to relate, rapport between Congress and the federal courts has markedly improved.”

In 2007 Ginsburg dissented in the Supreme Court case of Gonzales v. Carhart, which upheld the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. Writing about the case, Ginsburg stated: “Women, it is now acknowledged, have the talent, capacity and right ‘to participate equally in the economic and social life of the nation.’ Their ability to realize this full potential, the Court recognized, is ultimately connected to ‘their ability to control their reproductive lives.’”

In 1977 Ginsburg and feminist Brenda Feigen-Fasteau co-authored a report titled Sex Bias in the U.S. Code for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Identifying an array of federal laws that allegedly discriminated on account of sex, the report advocated the ratification of the then-pending Equal Rights Amendment. In this publication, Ginsburg:

called for the sex-integration of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, due to her belief that these organizations “perpetuate stereotyped sex roles”

called for sex-integration in “college fraternity and sorority chapters,” and for replacing them with “college social societies”

called for sex-integration in prisons, because “If the grand design of such institutions is to prepare inmates for return to the community as persons equipped to benefit from and contribute to civil society, then perpetuation of single-sex institutions should be rejected.”

reasoned that laws against prostitution were unconstitutional because “prostitution, as a consensual act between adults, is arguably within the zone of privacy protected by recent constitutional decisions”

urged readers to reject the notion that men should be regarded as “breadwinners,” and women as “homemakers”

called for reducing the age of consent for sexual acts to persons who are “less than 12 years old”

stressed a need for “a comprehensive program of government-supported child care”

called for the abolition of words with sexist connotations, including: “man,” “woman,” “manmade,” “mankind,” “husband,” “wife,” “mother,” and “father”

claimed that laws against bigamy were unconstitutional.”

Ginsberg indeed speaks frequently to left wing organizations and groups. She is worth an estimated $50 million dollars as well and gives notably to left leaning causes.
