Kevin Drum Doesn’t Get it - It’s OUR Money

I love watching lefties opine on how “patriotic” it is to pay MORE taxes. Kevin Drum commenting on Greg Mankiw writing in the Ny Times how he wouldn’t mind paying more taxes, but then he wouldn’t work so hard.

But Kevin spews into another lefty defense of why the Bush tax cuts are hurting the economy. They’re not. Out of control government spending is. But the pint he misses, like a lot of lefties. It’s our money. We would like to keep as much as possible of it. Thank you.

It’s a lesson that will lead to our victory in November when the majority of Americans will let lefties know just how much they believe in what I say.

Wow. You know someone is off kilter, and three fries short of a Happy Meal when they respond to someone with juvenile references to eat associated body parts.

So for your Sunday enjoyment here is the last eight years of BDS completely wrapped tight (as in a straight jacket) in one amazingly incoherent run-on laden paragraph.

“no, America did not act “firmly, maturely, and appropriately” in the wake of 9/11. But, a traumatized America that, up until that time, thought it was “all that” was easily manipulated into being the blunt instrument of war that Bill Kristol and his chickenhawk buddies at PNAC had their hearts set on since the late 90’s. To them, the attack on 9/11 was the greatest f***ing day of their lives because it gave them the causus belli fantasy that they had been masturbating to for years. Where we saw smoke and ash, death and destruction, they saw great opportunity and heavenly providence. And a mere nine days after the destruction of the twin towers, while America was still digging through the rubble and tallying up the dead, PNAC presented a blueprint to President Bush that, surprisingly enough, looked an awful lot like their Christmas wish list. After a perfunctory and obligatory first nod towards Osama bin Laden”

Oh, and let’s not forget the glowing and poetic finish.

“So, like Bill Kristol above, I’d also like to add one comment:

F** off and die, Bill Kristol. Seriously, just f** off and die, you evil piece of shit.”

More like evil genius. Way to screw up a moonbat’s day.

Michael Moore - America’s Capitalist!

Turd face has a new movie criticizing capitalism.

“VENICE (Reuters) - Capitalism is evil. That is the conclusion U.S. documentary maker Michael Moore comes to in his latest movie “Capitalism: A Love Story,” which premieres at the Venice film festival Sunday.

Blending his trademark humor with tragic individual stories, archive footage and publicity stunts, the 55-year-old launches an all out attack on the capitalist system, arguing that it benefits the rich and condemns millions to poverty.

“Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil,” the two-hour movie concludes.

“You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy.”

The bad guys in Moore’s mind are big banks and hedge funds which “gambled” investors’ money in complex derivatives that few, if any, really understood and which belonged in the casino.

Meanwhile, large companies have been prepared to lay off thousands of staff despite boasting record profits.

The filmmaker also sees an uncomfortably close relationship between banks, politicians and U.S. Treasury officials, meaning that regulation has been changed to favor the few on Wall Street rather than the many on Main Street.”

However, just as in 2004 we find that Moore is nothing more than a big fat capitalist pig!

“Michael Moore is a paradox. A millionaire who boasts of wealth as proving his value — “I’m a millionaire, I’m a multi-millionaire. I’m filthy rich. You know why I’m a multi-millionaire? ‘Cause multi-millions like what I do. That’s pretty good, isn’t it?”

He lives in a million-dollar apartment, and boasts of that as well. “I walk among them. I live on the island of Manhattan, a three-mile-wide strip of land that is luxury home and corporate suite to America’s elite….. Those who run your life live in my neighborhood. I walk in the streets with them each day” (Michael Moore, Stupid White Men, p. 51). For vacations, he keeps another million-dollar beachfront house in Michigan.

“You would think that he’s the ultimate common man. But he’s money-obsessed,” said one associate.

He sends his child to a private school — no sense associating with the working class — and has some trouble associating with them himself. The New York Post reported on a tantrum he threw in London: “Then, on his second-to-last night, [Michael Moore] raged against everyone connected with the Roundhouse and complained that he was being paid a measly $750 a night. ‘He completely lost the plot,’ a member of the stage crew told the London Evening Standard. ‘He stormed around all day screaming at everyone, even the 5 pound-an-hour bar staff, telling them how we were all con men and useless. Then he went on stage and did it in public.’ At his last appearance, staffers refused to work or even open the theater’s doors.” NY Post, Jan. 8, 2003.

He supplements his meager income with speaking tours. No more $750 gigs; on his 2004 pre-election tour he charged Utah Valley State College $40,000, Xavier $25,000, and University of New Mexico $35,000. Not bad for an hour or two’s work.
Ah, the joys of capitalism….
One of his former associates summed him up: ” You would think that he’s the ultimate common man. But he’s money-obsessed.”

Perez Hilton - Website Parasite - Claims Copyright on his video slander of Carrie Prejean

Patterico note that Perez Hilton - the guy with a blog that rips photos and stories from other sites - has claimed a “copyright” on his calling Miss California Carrie Prejean a dumb b..tch.

This is hilarious since the video isn’t even his, it was produced by the National Organization for Marriage. Nevertheless, it’s covered under fair use, so back on Youtube it goes, and if needed again, I have it stowed away.

Reminder to the Left, We Won the War in Iraq

Just in case they haven’t heard. Seems that Thomas Ricks is miffed at a lack of “academic freedom” at the War College.

“Did faculty members at the Army War College curtail their criticism of the Iraq war for fear of institutional retaliation?

That seems to be the bottom line in a situation I stumbled across just a few days ago. A friend passed along a 2005 e-mail note in which Steven Metz, chairman of a department at the Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute, urged several of his colleagues to blackball me because of my coverage of the Iraq war. “We all need to avoid Tom like the plague,” Professor Metz advised.

I was surprised by this in particular because the last time I heard from Metz last year, he was asking me to blurb his new book on the Iraq war, which I did, as you can see here. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but it is more than a little disappointing for him to denounce me privately and then turn around and ask me for help selling his book publicly.

But more important is what Metz’s note may say about the state of academic freedom at the Army War College. When I asked him why he would urge his colleagues to shun me, he quickly apologized via e-mail and explained that it had to do with the political climate at the college back then. In fact, he explicitly blamed the strained relationship between the Army and its civilian overseers under then-Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. “[A]t the time — with growing sensitivity to criticism by Rumsfeld and the Army’s attempt to make peace with Rumsfeld after Shinseki left — several members of SSI had been verbally flogged after interviews with you when the stories portrayed [sic] as more critical of the administration than we intended. We were worried about what might happen to SSI, even frightened for the organization. Many of us, including me, simply stopped doing interviews. Luckily, the climate eventually changed.”

Metz went on to tell me that he now thinks he was wrong to tone down his criticism of the conduct of the Iraq war back then. “Today I believe that I should have been more critical of the unfolding disaster in Iraq and simply borne the consequences. As government employees, we walk a fine line between being critics and ‘part of the team.’ In 2005 I, at least, lost the sense of balance.”

Maybe it is time for the commandant of the War College to issue a statement emphatically reaffirming his institution’s commitment to academic freedom?”

Or for Ricks to get a clue. Academics employed at the War College do not - as a part of their agreements with their employment - have a right to critique ongoing US policy or conduct of war. It’s not Haavard. Metz might have handled it in the wrong way, but he was right to ward fellow members off of Ricks, who’s antiwar ramblings bordered on the hysterical at times.

Nevertheless, it’s moot. We won the war and lefty journalists like Ricks just can’t stand that fact.
