Joe Biden Reveals Secret Location of VP “Undisclosed Location”

“Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.

According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.

The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.

Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine’s Washington contributing editor, said Biden revealed the location while filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering.

According to the report, Biden “said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment.”

Clift continued: “The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn’t be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall.”

That Eleanor Clift is devulging this makes it all the more sweet. The question is whether or not this news was classified and if so did Biden violate any laws.

I checked and indeed the location of the Vice President or President would be during elevated “situations”. One would think that would be classified info, however, the location of the PEOC or President’s Emergency Operations Center is common knowledged having been already published in several places, notably Wiki:

“The President’s Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) is a structure that lies beneath the East Wing of the White House in the United States. Originally constructed for President Franklin D. Roosevelt during World War II, it is presumed to be designed to withstand a nuclear blast, although in the event of an incoming ICBM, the President is more likely to be evacuated to safety by helicopter or Air Force One[citation needed] (the main protocols of escape are of course highly classified).[citation needed] It is not the same place as the Situation Room, which is in the basement of the West Wing. However, it does possess several televisions, telephones and a communications system to coordinate with other government entities during an emergency. During a breach of White House security, to include P-56 airspace violators, the President and other protectees will be relocated to the executive briefing room, next to the PEOC. Day to day, the PEOC is manned around the clock by joint service military officers and NCOs.

During the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Executive Briefing Room adjacent to the PEOC was occupied by Dick Cheney, Lynne Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Mary Matalin, Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Joshua Bolten, Karen Hughes, Stephen Hadley, David Addington, and Secret Service agents.”

OK, did Joe let some classified info slip? Hard to tell. In any case it’s just another example of why Biden cannot be trusted to keep his big mouth shut.

By the way, via a secret source I know where Cheney’s undisclosed location was.

It’s been a crappy week for liberals

First their favorite George Soros 527 gets condemned by the Senate for their “funny ad”.

Then all their antiwar legislation goes down the crapper.

Now they all jump collectively on a story that never was.

“JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Nelson Mandela is still very much alive despite an embarrassing gaffe by U.S. President George W. Bush, who alluded to the former South African leader’s death in an attempt to explain sectarian violence in Iraq.

“It’s out there. All we can do is reassure people, especially South Africans, that President Mandela is alive,” Achmat Dangor, chief executive officer of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, said as Bush’s comments received worldwide coverage.

In a speech defending his administration’s Iraq policy, Bush said former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s brutality had made it impossible for a unifying leader to emerge and stop the sectarian violence that has engulfed the Middle Eastern nation.

“I heard somebody say, Where’s Mandela?’ Well, Mandela’s dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas,” Bush, who has a reputation for verbal faux pas, said in a press conference in Washington on Thursday.”

The only problem is that Bush was using an analogy used earlier by Amb. Crocker before Congress. Obviously flew right past the brain-trusts at Reuters and clearly over the head of the majority of lefty bloggers.

But hey, it’s BDS and we know that scientifically BDS shrinks brains until - if it were possible - if you could place said shrunken brain on the edge of a razorblade it would look like a pea rolling down a four-lane highway.

The left’s selected myopia on Vietnam

When it comes to Vietnam - a war incidently that a Democrat began under George Keenan’s Containment Doctrine, developed under Truman (D) - the left can say the stupidest things. Case in point this from muckracker Josh Marshall:

“According to advance reports, President Bush will tomorrow invoke the specter of Vietnam in defense of his failed Iraq policy.

But isn’t this quite possibly the worst argument for his Iraq policy?

Going forty years on, it is not too much to say that virtually none of the predicted negative repercussions of our departure from Vietnam ever came to pass.

Asia didn’t go Communist. Our Asian allies didn’t abandon us. Rather, the Vietnamese began to fall out with her Communist allies. With the Cold War over, in strategic terms at least, it’s almost hard to remember what the whole fight was about. If anything, the clearest lesson of Vietnam would seem to be that there can be a vast hue and cry about the catastrophic effects of disengagement from a failed policy and it can turn out that none of them are true.”

Unbelievable. There is so much ignorance in just those few paragraph that if there were a license for blogging Marshall should have his permanantly revoked. Of course he’s upset because the President is simply stating a fact of history. Democrats have been invoking Vietnam in describing Iraq for nearly the entire time of the conflict. An analogy, by the way, which has been debunked over and over again. So now they are outraged that President Bush would dare use their flawed analogy in a correct way. A premature pullout WOULD be disasterous to Iraq and the region and on par with the results of a Democrat congress pulling the funding that forced a withdraw in Vietnam.

Of course that move allowed genocide in Cambodia to occur, as well as the slaughter of millions and to those not killed forced into “reeducation camps” in the South. I personally know survivors of this period of time - so screw you Marshall - you’re an idiot.

I know those pesky facts do get in the way don’t they? Democrats - especially progressives hate facts, but the fact of the matter is that a fact doesn’t need belief to be a fact. Speaking of facts - remember that the spread of Communism was irrefutably abated by the involvement of America in Vietnam. It did however spread to Asia after our withdrawl. In fact it’s widespread in Asia, or does Marshall really know that Asia isn’t just a defunked rock group.

Of course the left will never cop to the fact that they bear the burden and political consequence of Vietnam, but the fact remains that history needs no verification. The American public punished the Democratic Party for years afterwards, and now with the inability to learn from their past the American public is again rewarding them with 18 percent approval ratings.

How about a Censure for Feingold

I gave away the Elmer Fudd award too soon. Russ Feingold - the Senator title isn’t warranted - announced that he wants yet again to censure President Bush.

“Liberal Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold said Sunday he wants Congress to censure President Bush for his management of the Iraq war and his “assault” against the Constitution.

But Feingold’s own party leader in the Senate showed little interest in the idea. An attempt in 2006 by Feingold to censure Bush over the warrantless spying program attracted only three co-sponsors.

Feingold, a prominent war critic, said he soon plans to offer two censure resolutions — measures that would amount to a formal condemnation of the Republican president.

The first would seek to reprimand Bush for, as Feingold described it, getting the nation into war without adequate military preparation and for issuing misleading public statements. The resolution also would cite Vice President Dick Cheney and perhaps other administration officials.

The second measure would seek to censure Bush for what the Democrat called a continuous assault against the rule of law through such efforts as the warrantless surveillance program against suspected terrorists, Feingold said. It would also ask for a reprimand of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and maybe others.

“This is an opportunity for people to say, let’s at least reflect on the record that something terrible has happened here,” said Feingold, D-Wis. “This administration has weakened America in a way that is frightful.”

No, what weakens this country - especially in the eyes of the terrorists - is insane and unstable dolts like you. The people of Wisconsin must be eating bad cheese to be so brain-dead to have elected this waste can of a man to office.

But let him try. Not even Reid - still licking wounds from his dismal defeats of the last few weeks - will entertain this moron’s psychosis. He can ill afford another disaster of leadership under his tenure. Speaking of Leadership, here’s Reids way of support for the troops in the unprofessional and quite frankly terrorist-leaning language:

“”We have a lot of work to do,” Reid said. “The president already has the mark of the American people ‚Äî he’s the worst president we ever had. I don’t think we need a censure resolution in the Senate to prove that.”

Speak for yourself Reid, you’re not worthy to tie GW’s shoes or even stand in his presence.

If democrats want to ask why they’re people in congress have 14% approval ratings, they need to look no farther than these two morons.

Lefty spin with a side order of mud on the puss

This morning The Politico reported that Harry Reid called General Pace “incompetant” during a conference call with lefty bloggers. Lefty bloggers pounced on The Politico after said lefty bloggers denied that it happened, thus according to them that settled it.

Then the tape of the call was produced and Harry Reid indeed called General Pace “incompetent”. What followed was Clintonian Spin. Lefty self-appointed fact checker Bob Gerger:

“It’s because those of us who actually participated in the conference call heard the context in which Senator Reid made his comments. What he said about Pace was not said in the spirit of throwing some rhetorical red meat to a bunch of liberal bloggers by gratuitously bashing General Pace — which is certainly what one could infer from The Politicos “reporting” on this story.

Rather, Reid was talking informally about George W. Bush’s refusal to dump Alberto Gonzales and told us what he said to Pace in a private meeting before Bush tossed aside the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff like a rotting fish.

Here’s exactly what Reid said:

“I guess the president, uh, he’s gotten rid of Pace because he could not get him confirmed here in the Senate‚Ķ Pace is also a yes-man for the president and I told him to his face, I laid it out to him last time he came to see me, I told him what an incompetent man I thought he was.”

So, did Reid utter the word “incompetent” in the same sentence with General Pace’s name on the conference call? Yes, he did.

But in the context in which it was said — and based on Reid’s tendency to speak like the straight-talking, former boxer that he is — it all makes sense. And to those of us not looking for a Matt Drudge-worthy story, it hardly seemed remarkable.”

Ah, yeah, sure…..”Journalism 101 in the 80s” I guess.

UPDATE: Harry Reid also thinks that General Petraeus as “out of touch”. Yeah, that coming from a hack with a 19 percent approval rating. I think it’s time that Reid resign as the Senate Majority leader. He’s an pimple on America’s ass, a pathetic tired and bitter old man. Yeah, “let’s move on”.
