Think political hacks like John (employee abusing) Conyers have given up their dream to frog march Bush, Cheney and Rove?
Naw…
“With growing talk in Washington that President Bush may be considering an unprecedented “blanket pardon” for people involved in his administration’s brutal interrogation policies, advisors to Barack Obama are pressing ahead with plans for a nonpartisan commission to investigate alleged abuses under Bush.
The Obama plan, first revealed by Salon in August, would emphasize fact-finding investigation over prosecution. It is gaining currency in Washington as Obama advisors begin to coordinate with Democrats in Congress on the proposal. The plan would not rule out future prosecutions, but would delay a decision on that matter until all essential facts can be unearthed. Between the time necessary for the investigative process and the daunting array of policy problems Obama will face upon taking office, any decision on prosecutions probably would not come until a second Obama presidential term, should there be one.”
Of course this is the false conclusion based on the flawed premise. To the left it’s “Bush tortured, thus Bush be punished”. But of course the “torture” charge is baseless. To the left torture is Fox News grilling Bill Ayers.
You’ll remember that Republicans wanted to go after Bill Clinton when he left office but Bush didn’t play. Unless Obama wants to lead a pristine existance in office – not likely considering his propensity to pal up with people like Ayers, Wright and Rezko – he’s not going to want the favor returned upon his exit.
Nevertheless this assumes that Obama has a second term which I betting won’t be even mentioned nine months after he enters office as America sees what they bought into.
My guess is by then he’s in the 30s with his approval ratings and the country will be looking for “Change” by that time.

1Ahh yes. The Democrats know who the REAL enemy is. Iran? No. Al Qaeda? No. Hezbollah or Hamas? No. The Bush administration. What scum.

2Obama will cooperate with the hunt. He is a small, petty, vindictive man (notice the “leak” on the private meeting with Pres. Bush). Obama is everything to everyman and will go along with the attack on President Bush. Afterall, we just had a third world election, why not complete the picture and jail our previous leaders. Especially ones that fought back and kept us safe.

3That’s what marxists do, imprison opponents, based on fabricated evidence. That was their plan all along, what a bunch of sumbags.
Should they continue with their witchtrials, the backlash will be huge. I say, bring it on!

4Mac, your logic that Obama won’t want to do this lest he be investigated after leaving office assumes he intends to leave the presidency voluntarily.

6The scary part is – with all this witch hunting and economy fixing going on – over the next year or so. As they dismantle US defenses, the US will be wide open to another attack. If the US gets attacked again, I think it will make 911 look like a picnic. Should this happen, the Dems can kiss there time in office goodbye.
In the end – success talks and BS walks.
