In spite of their claim to be a “non-partisan” organization there membership is largely liberal both in general politics as well as foreign policy. Amity Shales is not in the majority of that body.

Liberal think tank? Why is Amity Shales a member, then? The Council on Foreign Relations is a nonpartisan organization with members from all over the ideological spectrum. If you’d ever cracked the cover of Foreign Affairs, you might know that.
