Last night while penning the Joe Klein piece (below) I sought to link perhaps the greatest example of planned Democrat obstructionism, the famous Rockefeller Memo. That memo was reported by The Hill on November 6th, 2003, and had been perhaps one of their most visted links.
However, suddenly, and without explanation the link is now coming back 404. I visited The Hill’s website and it doesn’t show up in any searches.
Luckily we have The Internet Achieve that perserves past pages of a website.
Now does the fact that The Hill removed the memo mean anything? After three years it doesn’t make sense that documents before it and after it are still there, but only it seems to be gone. Again, this wasn’t an obscure document, for it’s the catalysist for more than a few stunts the Democrats pulled over the years, and more so even today.
I’d like to know where it is at, and have contacted the editors to find out.

2A lot of the links that I found during the 2004 election that were showing Kerry in anti-american type stories about Vietnam, and his other activies have disappeared. My guess is by the time the 2008 election occurs, all anti American statements by the Democrats will be purged in their efforts to look like decent Americans. I think you’re going to see a lot of revised history coming from the liberals.

3The same was true during the Plame ordeal. Pagar, I agree we will see a lot of revised history to come but I also think we have experienced some already.

4“I think you‚Äôre going to see a lot of revised history coming from the liberals.”
Not revision so much as purging. People will make accusations, someone will say “prove it” and when they try, the documents will be gone. I would suggest you save anything you come up with. Also note that major media aren’t immune to this. These days they routinely revise old stories or purge their archives of articles that are unflattering of their political friends.
If you see something interesting, save it locally. If it is still on the original site when you wish to use it, make sure it hasn’t changed. Today’s journalism trade rates someplace between congressman and whale scat on the integrity scale.
