Now Schumer is using the Comey self-dramatization of the other day to suggest Gonzales lied. Nonsense. Tom Maguire takes this story and shreds it to confetti.

On the other hand it is interesting in his soap opera recitation of the dispute over Ashcroft’s bedside (the night before the Madrid bombing) he was specifically asked by Senator Specter who he was disputing the NSA program with and left out Scooter Libby, the Administration’s point man on the issue. Probably didn’t want to draw attention to the fact that while he knew that it was Armitage who told Novak about Plame (something certainly not illegal in any event) he had appointed his buddy Fitzgerald to make life miserable for Libby and the others who deigned to question what he was doing.

 

At some point, look around, notice we haven’t been struck since 9/11 and realize it is because of the hard work and dedication of people like Libby and Cheney and Wolfowitz and Addington–the very people hacks like¬† Comey and Schumer are out to destroy.
