I’ve been blogging at Macsmind long before many others began the hobby. I started in 2003 and back then blogs were just coming to their own, a place to share thoughts, rant, make a general ass out of yourself sometimes.

However it wasn’t long before sharks arrived and started to water down and spoil the whole thing and now one of those sharks has gone belly up. Via one of the “suckers” who helped Roger Simon use the work of others to promote his own ass, Jeff at Protein Wisdom got a pink slip.

” Dear Jeff,

As you know, last September Pajamas Media began a new initiative in Internet television called Pajamas TV. When we started with our RNC coverage from Minneapolis, we noted that we would be in a Beta Phase through the first quarter of 2009. In the last few months we have strengthened the PJTV lineup with shows covering Media Bias, Education Bias, Middle East Update, Sharia and Jihad, Powerline Report, Ask Dr. Helen, Hugh News, Poliwood, Conservatism 2.0, Economy and Finance, National Security, and others.

As the end of the first quarter approaches and we near the production phase of Pajamas TV, we will continue to build our emphasis in this area. As a result we have decided to wind down the Pajamas Media Blogger and advertising network effective March 31, 2009. The PJM portal and the XPressBlogs will continue as is.

Since our ad relationship continues for the time being, you should note that in order to be paid for the 1st quarter of 2009, you must leave the current Pajamas ads up until 12:01AM April 1. We will be sending you information in mid-March on removing the ads. As of April 1, 2009, you will be free to arrange syndication or re-sale deals.

We thank you very much for participating during the formative years of Pajamas Media and we look forward to working with you in other ways. One of those is, of course, Pajamas TV. If you have any ideas in that regard, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our best wishes in the new year and again our deepest gratitude for your participation in Pajamas Media.

Sincerely,

Roger L. Simon

CEO, Pajamas Media”

Unfortunately PJ will continue on as “Pajama TV”, which should be sending out dismissal letters by this time next year if not sooner. A failed business model is a failed business model no matter what you rename it.

However this brings up the larger point of what blogging is and what – IMHO – it’s not. When I started blogging it was just to journal my thoughts and have them displayed so some family and friends could read them. I was already semi-famous for creating a few websites during the internet boom of the 90s, but blogging intriqued me because of the interaction you would get.

I never considered myself “new media” or anything close to it. Just a simple disabled vet with a knack to stir things up and comment on issues important to me. Of course with the advent of the 2004 election and subsequent second term of President Bush that all changed.

As some of you know I’ve covered most of the big stories for the last five years, and even received interviews by news orgs for my posts on the Plame Game among others.

Still I wanted no part of joining any “new media”. It’s just a website, not a “news site”. I have no reporters – although I have a degree in Mass Commmunications – and basically I simply comment on the comments of others who comment on the comments of others – thus I meme.

It’s a hobby, no money, until the “Obama Wants to Disarm America” video ran so many times that it generated a pretty good income throughout 2008, but not enough to quit my day job.

But through this all I kept one thing that other bloggers at times kicked to the curb – uniqueness and purity. Macsmind is mine, ALL mine and here you will read what is on MY mind because it is Macsmind.

I wish Mr. Simon and his ilk no harm, but I would prefer his kind disappear from the blogging world. We don’t need you or your patronizing use to get yourself ahead in our blogging world.

Begone and good riddance.
