Almost a gimmie at this point from standpoint.

I agree the entire deal was an outrage, but the fact is that Libby got convicted for perjury. The sentence is comparably light considering other convictions of this nature. I remember one on a lesser level for a joe public who got 48 months.

Regardless, he will be pardoned.

The guidelines are not mandatory any more , Mac and in any event the probation department said he should get the LIGHTEST possible sentence under them with revision downward for the reasons listed in those no longer mandatory guidelines.
It is not even clear until next week whether the judge will allow Libby to remain out on appeal.

It is a frikkin outrage.

Possibly, but I see many avenues of appeal – more on that later, albeit it won‚Äôt be necessary.

Mac, what do you mean that it won’t be necessary? Because Libby will be pardoned?

The judge really didn’t have a choice under sentencing guidelines.

Again, he will be pardoned, write a book and make a ton of money.

2 and 1/2 YEARS is not a lenient sentence…Libby should be pardoned IMMEDIATELY!! Think he’ll do it?

Or in case he doesn’t get pardoned, APPEAL, APPEAL, APPEAL!!! What the hell is this judge thinking?
