Living in South Florida, another storm. Of course listening to the local media you would think it’s the end of all life as we know it!
“After ‘hammering Haiti’, ‘Creaming Cuba’, Tropical Storm Ernesto is about to Slaughter South Florida”…..
Heh…..got to love the “Even if he doesn’t bleed, cut it some more and hype it” media.
In anycase, I’ll be live blogging the landfall for all interested in that kind of thing so long as the power is on.
UPDATE: Ok, this storm is a bust. Just hit landfall and it’s beginning to rain a little, but all the hysterical news people are backtracking, calling all their hyterical rantings a “good practice”. Yeah, up yours, I could get any bread or gas yesterday because of this “practice”!
Oh, well, after the last two years and especially for those neighbors with the blue roofs, I’m grateful!
More if needed, but for now, a wipe of the forehead and a bow of thanks to God.

1Ernesto, revisited. First, the NOAA NHC forecasters ignored the storm’s weakening when it crossed Cuba. It became disaggragated and never recovered. So the NHC blew the forecast therafter, and needlessly shut down Florida. I think part of NHC’s problem is that it only produces a storm analysis every 6 hrs. Why not every two hrs given obvious importance of the subject matter? Comments appreciated.
