You’ll remember “Bizarro” the alternate character in the Superman series and the alternate world in which he lived in where evil was good and good was evil and every is ass backwards?
“Americans elected a new Congress to get things done. But the conservative minority has chosen a strategy of obstruction in the Senate. They have used the threat of a filibuster to delay or block virtually every major initiative. Bills with majority support‚Äîraising the minimum wage, ethics reform, a date to remove troops from Iraq, revoking oil subsidies and putting the money into renewable energy, fulfilling the 9/11 commission recommendations on homeland security‚Äîget blocked because they can‚Äôt garner 60 votes to overcome a filibuster.
In its first 40 hours, the new majority of the House of Representatives kept their promise to voters and passed legislation—increasing the minimum wage for the first time in a decade, empowering Medicare to negotiate lower prices on drugs, cutting interest rates on student loans in half, revoking big oil subsidies and using the money to invest in renewable energy—that provided a down payment for a new direction for this country.
These bills are overwhelmingly popular, and are simply common sense reforms. Yet every one of them‚Äîand many more‚Äîgot held up in the U.S. Senate.”
Now you’ll remember how the when it came to obstructionist no one out did the Democrats in there obstruction of every thing the Republican majority tried to get done up until 2006. Remember the “Nuke option”, “blue slips”?
Whether it was obstructing the President on the war on terror, or judicial nominees, they changed the rules for the future and now that the roles are revervsed they are crying the blues.
The funny part is that in the first six months of democrat “reign” they’ve accomplished virtually nothing at all. “Minimum wage” – give me a break! How many of the promises Madam of the House Pelosi made and has broken?
Nearly every one of them. Most of this without a shred of obstructionism, she accomplished it all by herself. For a review:

2Look at what the minimum wage debacle has wrought in Illinois:
http://www.dailyherald.com/story.asp?id=327799
For now some state contract jobs have been lost, but at this rate, entire businesses lost cannot be far behind. The Democrats “brave new world”! Personally I don’t think there is an entire brain cell in the Democratic Party.
Don’t get me started on Chicago (sanctuary city my a$$)!! You can’t be seriously for bringing in all this “cheap” labor and for the highest possible minimum wage too…the only result of that will be to send even more jobs out of state and eventually out of the country. It’s a never-ending nightmare!
Blagojevich is under suspicion for doing what comes naturally to Illinois pols! He gives out state jobs/contracts to his cronies like there’s no tomorrow (which there may not be if these people continue) while telling businesses in Illinois that they have to play by his rules or walk. Well, Blago, it looks like you’re going to get your wish sooner instead of later. This is just the beginning folks.
