G. Gordon Liddy, if have EVER read about Watergate, was a political operative intent on stealing information to use from the Democratic party. Stealing an election is by far more dangerous than what Ayers could ever do as a member of the underground. He claims to be rightous but is just in fact a traitor to American values. To stand with him is to stand against our constitution which was what part of the Weatherman organization was about. The difference was Ayers went too far in protests, ( However remeber the 1960′s and the Viet Nam war, Four Dead in Ohio ) but Liddy tried to have a President with unlimited piowers. As we have seen in the Bush years this has brought the same old distortions that were used back then. The President must be a Republican and must be right even if the Pope disagrees with him. ( Really was said ) By the way, Ayers hangs out with Republicans.

The Weathermen, which Ayers was a part, killed and maimed people. This further decouples the supposed connection.

This linkage is patently absurd, esp. considering what nasty treatment Liddy received by the out-of-control judge. Most white people would have been raped or killed in the conditions Liddy was purposely put in.

Read his book Will if someone doesn’t believe it.

Let me first say that I love the G-Man. I listened to him all the time on WJFK when I lived in VA and I really connect with his life story. I’ve never held his role in watergate against him and I’m a John McCain fan.

When I heard about this Bill Ayers / Obama thing I thought to myself that this liberal elite in Chicago is just crazy for making this nutcase a hero.

Now I realize that maybe I’m a conservative nut job for making the G-Man my hero. Sure, he didn’t blow up federal buildings but isn’t his attack againt the integrity of the system all the same?

We live in a democrazy with rules and it seems that both broke the rules to push the causes they associated with. Does it really matter if you used bombs or lock picks?

So one guy got off and one guy did 5 of 20 and then got off. But each was embraced by their respective left and right.
