The move has begun. The Other McCain has been chronicling the happenings, and Restate has started a Facebook page, touting “Not one Penny” to the NRSC. Additionally there is a blog “Not One Read Cent“.
As you know I’m no supporter of Charlie Crist and indeed did not cast a vote for him. In fact during a recent breakfast with GOP leaders in South Florida there is indeed a move not to throw support for Crist, and moving towards Marco Rubio.
The issue here though is the NRSC and it’s leadership, John Cornyn which seem bent on allowing the GOP to become the Party of Compromised Values. Thus I am as others are calling for his resignation.
What stands in the way is the stupid “Rule 11″ which would lock out Rubio, a hispanic and as Not One Red Cent notes this quote from Pinellas State Committeeman Tony DiMatteo, “To try to impose Rule 11 on a former Speaker of the House of Representatives—a Hispanic American, at a time when we’re trying to reach out to Hispanics and African-Americans and diversify—is beyond outrageous.”
Via TOM, here is Rubio’s farewell to the Florida House of Representatives.
This is what we are looking for, not watered down – any which way the wind blows – Crist.
This has to and will stop. Therefore we should keep up the pressure until Cornyn resigns and the NRSC backs away from it’s endorsement of Crist.
