As I said, the kid doesn’t hire a criminal lawyer – especially Timothy McVeigh’s attorney, without there being something that he needs an attorney for.

Via the Washington Times:

“From combined dispatches

The FBI’s ongoing “assessment” to determine whether disgraced former Florida Rep. Mark Foley violated federal law is focusing, in part, on a 21-year-old former page working on a gubernatorial campaign in Oklahoma.

Lawyer Stephen Jones, who represented convicted terrorist Timothy McVeigh, said yesterday that he been retained by the former page, Jordan Edmund, and was “reviewing” the matter.

Mr. Edmund was identified in Internet reports as one of the teenage boys with whom Mr. Foley, Florida Republican, purportedly exchanged sexually explicit online messages.

Matt Drudge reported yesterday that, according to two persons close to Mr. Edmund, the AOL Instant message exchanges that led to the Foley resignation were part of an online prank.

The Drudge Report said one Oklahoma source, “who knows the former page very well,” claims Mr. Edmund goaded an unwitting Mr. Foley to type embarrassing comments, which were shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The Drudge Report said the prank went awry when the saved instant messages got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.”

As I and others have said, “Don’t go to far out on this until you get all the facts”, and that has proved to be right.

Apparently the “prank” may lead to more revelations such as a “book deal” that some of pages were hoping to get, a kind of “Capital Hill 90210″. What would “sauce” the offer up more than to have a “learing pervert congressman” in the script?

From an email referencing a post in the comments at Justoneminute.

“I have recently recieved an interesting e-mail, and have been informed that a TV project is being developed that may in some way involve pages.

As part of that project, the authors have asked me to post a questionaire for them that hopefully everyone can fill out and return to them, and i have done so.

Hello,

First of all I have to tell you how much we love the web site. You’ve done such a terrific job with it!

I have a quick question for you. My writing partner Jan and I are working on a concept for a television project that includes a fictional school based on the House and Senate Page Schools. One thing that’s very important to us is portraying the school and students correctly. It’s such an amazing school and must have been such a fun experience. We really want to capture the spirit of your group and your dedication, at an age where most kids are content just hanging out and biding their time till college.

We’d like to talk to you and other alumni members about your experiences nothing formal just a quick questionnaire or if you or they would rather, we can do a phone call instead.

I’ve attached the questionnaire to the email.

This is going to be a terrific project and we really look forward to hearing about Page School from the people who know it best!

Thanks so much,

Laura Greenwald

Yeah, a “Terrific Project!”

More to come……
