The American Spectator reports that Feinstein had a meeting scheduled on May 11–the very day of the Sampson email referring to the “real problem” with San Diego USA Carol Lam–to complain about Lam’s handling of immigration cases.
So, she was complaining about the very same thing the Administration was unhappy about, but pretended the firing related to an investigation relating to Jerry Lewis. That investigation was NOT in Lam’s shop. (It seems to be a nothingburger in any event).
Maybe she’s suffering from the same amnesia Schumer is–He complains about Republicans inquiring about investigations, ignoring his own correspondence with DoJ in which he made every effort to actually influence the course of the Plame investigation. She pretends Lam’s firing was for some improper purpose, but it was for the very reason she’d been complaining about, and she knew it.
