Siren at Drudge: Michael Jackson has died from a heart attack.

“We’ve just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.”

This is only from TMZ, awaiting further more reliable reporting. If true get really for a media orgy.

UPDATE: MSNBC reports only that Jackson was taken to hospital, verified by Jackson’s father.

UPDATE:  Via Hot Air reports that OK Magazine is saying Jackson is dead.  LA Times confirms.  Here comes the 24/7 media blast fest!

Might as well say it before someone else does.

Two-timing Mark Sanford might have caught a break via a child molester dropping dead. 

Talk about a weird week.

UPDATE:  ET Online posts the  last photo, as paramedics try to revive him. 

Though not confirmed, rumors are circulating about drug abuse.  My guess is that it’s true.  After all he always spoke of admiring Elvis and the way he went out.

I’m sorry I’m not riding the wagon of how he was such a “great entertainer” with “problems”, and thus giving him a pass just because he dropped dead.  For me it wasn’t soon enough and indeed would have been better if it happened before he could have damaged the lives of young boys.

 As someone who is close to victims of child abuse and sexual assault there is nothing that redeems a person from that activity, not even a “legendary career”.

To the fact that people are willing to forget that horror says boat loads about the moral decay of America.

UPDATE: Apparently this may well be drug related. Sources are speculating that Jackson was using performance enhancing drugs to help him “work out”.  Unknown what these substances were, but police are looking into that angle at his home and have found some “evidence”. 

I’m familiar with that – if true -  as in 2000 I suffered a heart attack as a result of using Ephedra.   Although it’s been off the market for a few years it’s still available to those who have the cash to get it.  It’s only a guess, but it makes sense in light of the fact that according to Roger Friedman Jackson was rehearsing last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  He seemed in good spirits and happy.

We’ll have to see.  The autopsy is tomorrow.

UPDATE:  The UK Sun is reporting that Jackson might have died from an injection of Demerol:

“An Emergency Room source at UCLA hospital said Jackson aides told medics he had collapsed after an injection of potent Demerol — similar to morphine.

A Jacko source said: “Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing.

“His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.

“His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes “But found he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital.

“When he arrived they started resuscitation, giving him heart shocks and inserted a breathing tube and other supportive measures to try and save his life.

“He never regained consciousness.The family was told that he had passed.”
