Wizbang’s politics section has a piece of news on the immigration debate.¬† This non-event is big.

The short version: Lindsey Graham will not be facing a primary challenger.  This is not a small thing.  Graham has been one of the most outspoken critics of some opponents of the comprehensive bill, and has been willing to return fire at some them.
Much like the 2006 primary victory of Congressman Chris Cannon, this has to be a sign that the opposition is loud, but not as widespread as we’re supposed to believe.¬† OK, many major conservative sites and bloggers – not to mention major talk show hosts – oppose this bill vehemently, but at the same time… why is there no primary challenger for Senator Graham?¬† Why did Randy Graf get a lower percentage than Cannon’s challenger and need to rely on the fact that two moderates were running to secure his primary victory?

Think that over… and then let’s decide if pushing forward is really going to be a disaster.
