“SANFORD, Fla. —

WFTV has confirmed that autopsy results show 17-year-old Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles when he died.

The information could support George Zimmerman’s claim that Martin beat him up before Zimmerman shot and killed him.

The autopsy results come as Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara continues to go over other evidence in the case.

O’Mara wouldn’t comment on the autopsy evidence, but WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said it’s better for the defense than it is for the prosecution.

WFTV has learned that the medical examiner found two injuries on Martin’s body: The fatal gunshot wound and broken skin on his knuckles.

When you compare Trayvon’s non-fatal injury with Zimmerman’s bloody head wounds, the autopsy evidence is better for the defense, Sheaffer said.

“It goes along with Zimmerman’s story that he acted in self-defense, because he was getting beaten up by Trayvon Martin,” Sheaffer said.

The injury to Martin’s knuckle also fits with Zimmerman’s story that before he shot and killed Martin, Martin had broken his nose and knocked him to the ground, slamming his head on the sidewalk.”

It’s the only logical and consistant finding at this point. Of course Sheaffer offers this:

“But Sheaffer said there could be another explanation for Martin’s knuckle injury.

“It could be consistent with Trayvon either trying to get away or defend himself,” Sheaffer said.”

Which is not a likely conclusion unless Trayvon was running on his fists.

Again, you have to wonder just what in the hell Zimmerman is on trial for, at this point it’s a defense’s dream and if I’m Zimmerman’s counsel I move for a dismissal of the charges – they simply don’t fit.

He has entered a plea of not guilty and claims self-defense under the state’s “Stand Your Ground Law” in the Feb. 26 shooting. A message left Tuesday evening with Zimmerman’s attorney was not immediately returned.”

They should be calling the prosecutor’s office to ask where they got their law degrees. Sheesh, clear a case of self defense as I ever saw.

“SANFORD — As many eagerly awaited the release of never-before-seen evidence in the case against George Zimmerman, members of Special Prosecutor Angela Corey’s office provided a preview on Monday in the form of an eight-page document.

The paperwork, filed with the Seminole County clerk as closing time approached, included a list of witnesses the state plans to call and identified several pieces of the evidence prosecutors expect to use to support a second-degree-murder charge in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Late Monday, Zimmerman attorney Mark O’Mara confirmed he had received the evidence at his office. It consists of dozens of CDs and “numerous” paper documents.

“It’s 67 CDs. That’s about all I know,” O’Mara said.

Most names were redacted from the witness and evidence document obtained by the Orlando Sentinel, but six civilian witnesses were named: Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin; his brother, Jahvarius Fulton; and Zimmerman’s neighbor Frank Taaffe, friend Joe Oliver and father, Robert Zimmerman.

The document listed 18 Sanford police officers as primary witnesses, including lead Investigator Chris Serino. Corey’s office also turned over five reports prepared by him, as well as written reports prepared by four other Sanford officers.

The list includes new video evidence from the night of the shooting — both from the 7-Eleven store where Trayvon reportedly purchased Skittles and Arizona iced tea and from a clubhouse in Retreat at Twin Lakes, the townhouse complex where the teen was killed.

Other video, showing Zimmerman being taken into the Sanford Police Department after the shooting, has already been made public. Crime-scene photos of both Zimmerman and the teen are also listed in the document filed Monday, as is Trayvon’s autopsy report.

Also included in the evidence are phone records — Zimmerman’s from Feb. 20 to Feb. 28 and from March 7 to March 22, Trayvon’s from Jan. 1 through March 1, and those of an unnamed witness labeled “W8″ from Feb. 26 through April 2.

The list includes 40 audio-recorded statements. One of the 911 callers, identified as “W6,” gave four statements to authorities about the shooting, two to Sanford police, one to FDLE and one to the prosecution’s lead trial attorney, Bernie de la Rionda.

W8 gave two statements — one to prosecutors and one to Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump, which suggests W8 may be the girl described by Crump as Trayvon’s girlfriend.

Other primary witnesses include four FDLE investigators, three investigators from the office of State Attorney Norm Wolfinger and two from Corey’s office, including Dale Gilbreath, who hand-delivered the list to Seminole County clerks about 20 minutes before their doors closed for the day Monday.

Five fire-rescue personnel are listed as witnesses. So are a fingerprints expert with Sanford police and FDLE experts in the fields of firearms, DNA, trace evidence and fingerprints.

Also listed are two employees with the Volusia County medical examiner’s office and a pair of Federal Bureau of Investigation audio experts. The list also includes Tom Owen and Ed Primeau, two audio analysts who told the Sentinel they believe the screams heard in one 911 call were those of Trayvon, not Zimmerman.”

In other words, a “prosecutor’s stack”. Obviously missing is the only real eye witness to the event who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman beating him and went back to call 911, returning to find Martin on the ground and Zimmerman standing over him. This witness who goes by the name “John” is a key defense witness and again the only witness to the event as it happened.

Of course as I said before Tom Owen – the so-called “audio expert” who claimed that it was more than 90 percent that the voice screaming for help on the 911 tape wasn’t Zimmerman, although he had no voice sample of Martin for comparison.

Additionally as I pointed out before the tape was played by Sanford Detectives for Martin’s father and he said that the voice wasn’t his son’s. He has since changed his mind – obviously under his attorney’s advice.

“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”

“He offered you money?”

“Yes,” Wright said. “Barack said he wanted to meet me in secret, in a secure place. And I said, ‘You’re used to coming to my home, you’ve been here countless times, so what’s wrong with coming to my home?’ So we met in the living room of the parsonage of Trinity United Church of Christ, at South Pleasant Avenue right off 95th Street, just Barack and me. I don’t know if he had a wire on him. His security was outside somewhere.

“And one of the first things Barack said was, ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do any more public speaking until after the November election.’ He knew I had some speaking engagements lined up, and he said, ‘I wish you wouldn’t speak. It’s gonna hurt the campaign if you do that.’

“And what did you say?” I asked. “I said, ‘I don’t see it that way. And anyway, how am I supposed to support my family?’ And he said, ‘Well, I wish you wouldn’t speak in public. The press is gonna eat you alive.’

“Barack said, ‘I’m sorry you don’t see it the way I do. Do you know what your problem is?’ And I said, ‘No, what’s my problem?’ And he said, ‘You have to tell the truth.’ I said, ‘That’s a good problem to have. That’s a good problem for all preachers to have. That’s why I could never be a politician.’

“And he said, ‘It’s going to get worse if you go out there and speak. It’s really going to get worse.’

“And he was so right.”

By all accounts the move – or rather – “evolution” to gay marriage Obama demonstrated this week is a flop of a huge magnitude. From losing 3-4 points in recent polling, to outright vitriol from the progressives who call it “bullshit“, it’s a flop. It fooled no one and angered just about everyone.

Including the majority of Americans. No, not that majority that polling suggest that 50 percent of Americans support gay marriage. Frankly the polling is crap, for as we’ve seen states by voter referendum keep banning it. If it weren’t for liberal activist judges over turning the will of the people in those states the issue would be all but dead.

Many, many people I talk too are fed up with the whole of the gay marriage issue. It’s hard to imagine that a social issue that affects some little of the population get’s the lion share of the attention.

But progressives sense that this is their chance to ram gay marriage down American’s throat (shameful pun), and possibly their last chance should Obama get tossed in November.

With his latest pronouncement of his “coming of age” that’s just about assured.

“Republican foreign policy elder statesman Sen. Richard Lugar, 80, first elected to the Senate in 1976, was defeated in the Indiana primary Tuesday by state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, who was backed by conservatives ranging from the National Rifle Association to local Tea Party activists to the Washington-based fiscal conservative group the Club for Growth.

Mourdock scored a landslide victory, winning more than 60 percent of the vote with almost all precincts reporting.

Looking toward the November election, National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Sen. John Cornyn of Texas said two weeks ago that “it will probably make it more of a contest if Sen. Lugar is not the nominee, but I’m confident we’ll hold the seat.”

In a statement Tuesday night once the outcome was clear, Cornyn said Mourdock “has the NRSC’s full support and we are committed to helping elect him as Indiana’s next U.S. Senator in November.”

Conceding defeat, Lugar told his supporters, “I hope that Richard Mourdock prevails in November so he can contribute to that Republican majority in the Senate.”

But Lugar also said that unless Mourdock “modifies his approach, he will achieve little as a legislator.”

Within minutes of Mourdock’s victory, leading Senate conservative Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina — who’d stayed neutral in the primary — sent a message to supporters of his Senate Conservatives Fund, urging them to donate money to Mourdock.

“A year ago political pundits said Richard Mourdock couldn’t win this race. They said he couldn’t build the support needed to overcome the establishment machine. They were wrong,” DeMint said.”

As are those who think that the Tea Party influence was a fluke of 2010. Alive and well it is.
