It’s time to seen a message to the GOP. It seems that they have forgotten who brought them into the majority in congress. As we have seen over the last couple of weeks Republicans have become all weak in the knees about not raising taxes, not only on the wealthy but all Americans.

Tom Colburn is the latest turncoat.

“Republican Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) told me Sunday on ABC News’ “This Week” that he is willing to accept tax rate increases as a component of a fiscal cliff deal, as long as Democrats put “significant entitlement reform” on the table.

“What we ought to be working on is the other 93 percent, because even if you do what [Obama] wants to do on tax rates, you only affect 7 percent of the deficit,” Coburn said. “What we have done is spend ourselves into a hole, and we’re not going to raise taxes and borrow money and get out of it.”

“And so will I accept a tax increase as a part of a deal to actually solve our problems? Yes,” he said.

Somehow the GOP believes that giving into Obama on taxing the wealthy will somehow work out to a win for them down the road. Well here’s a clue for them. Let’s call it 2014.

The 2014 midterms will either be a boom or a bust for the GOP, but make no mistake the Tea Party and associated groups brought the GOP to a majority in the House, but we can just as easily take back the gift.
