We are learning now that the attacks on the US embassy and consolate locations in Libya and Egypt were likely planned in advance by Al Qaeda sympathizers. I have learned from sources well placed within the intel community that significant chatter and intel had been detected as late as two weeks ago, signaling an attack on the anniversary of 9/11.

These sources told us that the information was disseminated in the usual channels but carried a high priority that indicated that attacks would be imminent.

We have learned through Breitbart’s Wynton Hall that President Obama did not attended the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB)–in the week leading up to the attacks on the U.S. embassy in Cairo, where such information would have been disseminated.

I’m told further that the information was “clean”, meaning that it was first hand information and had the highest confidence.

As they say, developing….

UPDATE: Drudge has it up that the CIA SAW NO THREATS… , but the State Department Q&A is non committal.denying they had any prior information of an attack. I find it hard to believe. Unless they’re admitting to negligence there is no way they didn’t know. I stand by the sources I have quoted.

Here’s the back and forth.

“QUESTION: Thanks for doing this. Listen, there’ve been troubles in Benghazi for some time now. I understand the Consulate was attacked or bombed two, three months ago. The British have put out threat warnings about Benghazi. Was there any consideration before the attack yesterday of beefing up security there?

And the other thing is, the head of Diplomatic Security at the Consulate, as things started getting worse and worse there, the whole situation started going south, did he try to get a quick reaction force of some kind from the U.S.? Did he believe the Libyan forces were sufficient? Did he do anything to try to get more help?

SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL ONE: Well, again, I’m not going to get into the specifics of how we were postured in terms of security at our mission in Benghazi beyond what I said. So – because we don’t ever talk about the details of those kinds of things.

What I would say, though, is that we did, as we did in missions around the world, review the security there in the context of preparing for the anniversary of September 11th. And at that point, there was no information and there were no threat streams to indicate that we were insufficiently postured.”

Well if you’re saying that for the first time since 9/11 and every year afterward there was no chatter of attacks or threats, I’ll say this is new and interesting. But the statement is classic SD double speak. Fact is according to what we know they weren’t postured at all.

This is the clue.

“OPERATOR: Dina Temple with NPR is next. Please, go ahead.

QUESTION: Dina Temple-Raston with NPR. I’m wondering if you can tell us whether there was any specific recent intelligence indicating that there was going to be a threat against the consulate.

SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL ONE: Dina, you won’t be surprised if we decline to talk about intelligence. I did speak a little bit earlier about our review of our security posture in advance of September 11th.”

Like I said, I’ll stand by my info.

UPDATE 2: Well it seems I and my sources were correct – I had no doubt – but according to the Independent UK.

“According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted.”

Like I said, I’m told the chatter was off the charts for at least a week. There was now as we learn even more specific chatter 48 hours prior, so how could they not have been ready? Obama has some explaining to do.

UPDATE: The White House is of course denying, the Obama Apologetic (Aka The Politico) to the rescue?

“The Obama administration is flatly denying a blaring British newspaper report that the U.S. diplomats in Libya were killed as a result of a “continuing security breach,” and that “credible information” about possible attacks had been ignored.

A U.S. official told POLITICO: “There’s no intelligence indicating that the attack in Benghazi was premeditated.”…

Shawn Turner, spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, emailed: “This is absolutely wrong. We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.”

Only problem, the Jerusalem Post on 9/11 said there was.

“Egypt’s General Intelligence Service warned that a jihadi group is planning to launch terrorist attacks against the US and Israeli embassies in Cairo, according to a report Tuesday by Egypt Independent, citing a secret letter obtained by Al-Masry Al-Youm.

According to the report, the attack is being planned by Global Jihad, the group suspected of killing 16 Egyptian border guards in Sinai on August 5.

Al-Masry Al-Youm reportedly obtained a copy of the September 4 letter, sent to all Egyptian security sectors, warning that Sinai- and Gaza-based Global Jihad cells were planning attacks on the two embassies.”

That’s curtains folks. Somebody going to get thrown under the bus and I don’t think Hilary goes down alone.
