From one of the forums. It was noticed that the 4S turns on it’s infrared sensor anytime the screen is on. The sensor and it’s monitoring may be contributing to the battery drain. This senor is used in the ‘Raise to Speak’ option for Siri. Even if this option and or Siri is turned off, the sensor stays on-not a good design.
