American Signature Furniture touts itself as a furniture store that offers the best bang for the buck. However as a customer – or rather ex-customer, I must disagree.
American Signature Furniture not only sales cheap foreign furnishings (China), but dangerous products as well. Having ordered more than a few items over the last year I’ve recieved chairs with hairline cracks which could cause collaspe and injury along with exposed screws and sharp edges. A few weeks ago I ordered a couch that arrived with a broken backrest that had been covered up at the factory. You could clearly see the break and the so-called repair in this photo.
While ASF agreed to exchange the couch the issue is how did this item get out of their quality control in the first place. A furniture repair friend of mine took a look at the couch and commented that we were lucky to see the repair before the wood rebroke again and possibly impailed someone sitting on it. I’ve referred this item to the consumer products safety commision for a review of ASF’s standards of compliance. There is no way this store should be in the business of selling sub-standard and potentally dangerous furniture.
