Gas prices skyrocketing, out of control war in Afghanistan, spiraling debt, and now….

Chutzpah!

“WASHINGTON— President Obama on Monday kicked off his reelection campaign with a quiet video posting rather than the usual hoopla.

In addition to the video, titled “It Begins With Us,” the Obama campaign sent an e-mail to supporters announcing the drive for 2012. The announcement had been expected and was signaled in reports throughout the weekend.

Obama pledged to focus on his job, but will pick up the tempo of campaigning this month with several fundraisers. The campaign is hoping to raise a record $1 billion.

Obama is scheduled to be in Washington on Monday, emphasizing his on-the job strategy. Recent polls show Obama’s job approval ahead of those of Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush when they decided to run again.

At least 15 Republicans have indicated some degree of interest in opposing Obama.”

Er, on that “Recent Polls”, observe.

Besides the crappy poll numbers in approval among REGISTERED VOTERS, Obama is down in every category of key voters – independents one – except the black vote. Byron York points that bad numbers of Obama that point to his defeat in 2012, numbers much worse than Bush or Clinton.

“tart with voters who call themselves independents. Obama won 52 percent of them in 2008; now, according to Gallup, he is at 42 percent. Obama’s party as a whole fared even worse among independents in the midterms, losing them to Republicans by 19 points. If Obama does anywhere near that badly in 2012, he’ll lose.

Next, women. In 2008, Obama won 56 percent of female voters. Today, he’s at 49 percent. If that number doesn’t improve, he’ll be in deep trouble. (Obama is also down with men, from 49 percent in 2008 to 44 percent now.)

Even younger voters, a key part of Obama’s coalition, are peeling away. In ’08, Obama won 66 percent of voters 18-29 years of age. Now, he’s at 58 percent. That might seem pretty good, but not when you consider his deterioration among other age groups. Obama has dropped 5 percentage points among voters in and around middle age, and 8 percent with voters above 65. If those trends continue, he’ll lose.

Then there are white voters. In ’08, Obama won 43 percent of whites. Now, he’s at 37 percent — a dangerously low number for his re-election hopes. He won 67 percent of Hispanic voters in 2008; now, he’s at 58 percent. Even support among black voters, a bedrock for Obama, has ticked downward; after winning 95 percent of blacks in ’08, he’s now at 89 percent.

The largest factor being that in 2008 people “took a chance” on Obama. It was a chance based on the fact that he had NO experience in governance and was a long shot at being successful. He’s now a proven unmitigated failure. The inexperience shown through like a beacon with foreign policy gaffs galore. Home gaffs with the BP oil disaster, the economy – which is NOT growing and unemployment still at 9 percent (15% when you consider all factors of the job market).

The neat seals, glowing words and pretty smile won’t do it this time. America is looking for a leader and know whoever that might be Barack Obama isn’t the one.
