Mac, I have been seeking an answer to a question no one seems to have. Perhaps you do.

When the Prez signs the repeal of DADT, does the law then revert back to the way it was prior to the enactment of DADT? If so, is this not a total loss for gay soldiers?

Also, Gates has said that the repeal would be "phased" in. What the hell does that mean? The UCMJ is clear, but now the rules that apply to DADT in the UCMJ are moot.

Also, it was my understanding that there was a back-door exist for gays who found out, perhaps during boot camp, that they were not suited for military life. Just go to the C.O, "come-out" and you would be honorably discharged. Has that backdoor just been slammed shut? Will the D.I. now just tell them to quite whining, hit the deck and give him 100?

DADT tell has been used, by civilian gay activists, as nothing more than the same discrimination used against blacks in the military. To accept that concept, you would have to accept the concept that you can tell a gay person just by looking at them.

Discrimination lawyers are now having their business cards printed up by the thousands as they know that now, in order for a gay to leave the military, he is going to have to prove he was discriminated against. What a boon to sleazy lawyers this repeal will prove to be.

I hope you can answer my question.

I think the unintended consequences of a lame duck Congress pushing their social engineering down the throats of the very segment of our society that has no say in the matter is going to prove disasterous.
