Despite all the positioning and parading out of Bubba Clinton and even the digging up of dead Dick, the “Obama Tax Proposal” will go through this week. To listen to the pundits both on the right and left who talk of problems with the legislation the fact is that no politician worth his overstocked pension is going to let Americans get higher taxes come January 1st.

The sticking issues of course are the tax breaks for those “rich” folks making $250,000 or more, and the fact that the legislation will cost about 800 billion dollars – which is angering some on the right, mostly pundits – rich pundits – such as Beck, Palin, Limbaugh. I agree in principal as well. Yet I also believe that once the GOP takes control of congress there will be ample opportunities to shave unnecessary waste from government.

But the fact of the matter is those who in the middle class – yours truly – would simply be devastated by the additional $200 to $300 dollars extra a month in taxes (your mileage may vary). Many Americans are in my shoes and will agree. It’s one of those good outweighs the bad scenarios.

The Hill has three scenarios which could take place, but I believe that this will sail through in short order in this week.
