As I wrote before I have evidence that the DADT study was flawed and specifically that it was tampered with. Several sources within the DOD have told Macsmind that Secretary of Defense Gates essentially dictated how the results would be crafted, stating in memo that repeal of the law was “A Presidential Imperative”.
Specifically findings that were “negative” to the script being written about how repeal would not affect military effectiveness were summarily ignored and ordered “shelved”. In some cases field commanders were strongly “encouraged” to ensure respondents understood the “importance” of providing what was termed as “positive feedback”.
I’ve submitted the proof to incoming GOP house staff members and tonight I’ve received assurance that when the new congress convenes there will be hearings that will call on Gates and other key players to have them account for their actions.

1Mac, even simple math tells us that the “survey” taken of our military was probably designed for desired results. We have a military that is (2007 numbers 1,308,082 strong, yet only 300,000 surveys were given out. That is to less than one-third of our military. The Marines, according to one report, only received 989 surveys.
I recently spoke with the son of a friend who just returned from an FOB in Afghanistan. We discussed the repeal at length. Here is one of the problems he said would happen with gay soldiers deployed to Afghanistan: the bacha bazi problem. And a Wikileaks document confirms that the practice of homosexuality and pedophilia among Afghan police and military are quite a concern to U.S. and British soldiers as it seems to be the norm and not the exception. What will be the temtation when a gay soldier is offered a young boy by his Afghan counterparts as a sign of “friendship”?
There will be unintended consequences to the repeal. What then? What is Plan B if we see our recruitment numbers diminish and our military attrition rate increase? And if gay male soldiers now have the right to shower with heterosexual male soldiers in the name of “equality” what about allowing heterosexual soldier to shower with heterosexual female soldiers in the name of “equality”.
You MUST keep bringing this to the forefront, showing the problems that are going to come from the repeal of DADT. Not only where those gay soldiers dishonest when they enlisted, they now find themselves in a contract (enlistment) that they want to break because it no longer suits their agenda. There is NOT ONE soldier currently in the military that was not given the rules of Title 10;654 BEFORE they enlisted. There is NOT ONE soldier that wasn’t given the rules of Title 10:654 while in basic training.
But now the new motto for our military will be “You’re gay? You stay.” No more deciding that you are not cut out for military life, going to your C.O. and outing yourself and given an honorable discharge.
Look for the suicide rates in our military to increase (so says my friend who just returned from Afghanistan).
