This is just coming in. Early today Eric Holder raddled his saber and claimed that an investigation was ongoing. Frankly I wasn’t convinced. After all he’s already shone himself to have the bad habit of letting the bad guys get away with it.
However tonight I’m hearing that the US Government, specifically the US Attorney’s office in Alexandria Virginia, is going to charge Julian Assange with Espionage.
This is really the only charge they can make stick as Assange could not be tried for treason not being a US citizen.
Of course once charged the US would need the cooperation of other countries to turn over Assange if located. In Sweden he’s already wanted in questioning about rape and molestation of minor.
However to make it even more easy to get Assange the State Department has been working with Australia to have them file charges of treason which could stick because that’s Assange’s home country.
Today we learned that in fact Federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland is at this time considering just that.
