Had they done that, and announced they had, they would have had the loyality of every American who thinks what Assange did was nothing more that a cyber attack on the U.S. And Professor Zittrain is an idiot; receiving stolen property (the documents), no matter how many times they have been passed around, or who received them first, is still a crime.
