You know that it wasn’t five seconds before CBS ran a story citing an agency they paid that estimated – grossly underestimated as I wrote about here – that the Glenn Beck rally drew “only” 85-90,000 people.

So where is CBS with a likewise crowd estimate for yesterday’s event? Crickets….

In fact CBS ran a AP story for their coverage that already knocks down the crowd size to half of what Beck’s rally.

“Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck’s rally. But Saturday’s crowds were less dense and didn’t reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck’s rally. The National Park Service stopped providing official crowd estimates in the 1990s. “

But if we were to use CBS’s template that it took 90,000 to fill the mall, then yesterday’s event, which filled only a quarter of the mall, must have garnered only 15-20,000 tops. I think it was much less and as I already wrote about an organizer moaned that the crowd was much less than they had anticipated.
