The new Mac Office 2011 will be out later this month but my recommendation is that you either stay with version 2008, or some other office suit, especially if you use the calendar.
The reason is that once again Microsoft shows it’s arrogance by crippling it’s Outlook program by limiting the calendar.
There is NO support for iCal, or even previous versions of Exchange prior to 2007. Additionally there is no support for Gmail or any other calendaring system. So if you’re not connected to an 2007 or above Exchange Server, you’re screwed.
This is critically stupid on the part of Microsoft. Mac users are unique in that they mostly use iCal for their calendaring. Crafting a Mac version of Office that refuses to sync with the number one calendaring software for Mac is simply inexcusable.
My recommendation is therefore a “No Buy” until they fix the issue.
