Everybody is huffing and puffing about burning a Koran. But one wonders just where is the same outrage when Christianity is attacked. Fact is that no other religion in America comes under relentless attack by Hollywood movies, TV, comedians, than Christianity yet you don’t hear the media moaning about it. You definitely don’t get a four-star general speak out against it. Heck even Sarah Palin is chiming in (stand down girl).
Why is that? What is the difference? A Catholic Bishop today said that it “violates American principles of freedom of religion”. Even Angelina Jolie is upset (like we care).
Yeah, “two wrongs don’t make a right”, but as I explained before when asked “What would Jesus do” he – as the God of the universe who commanded that there be no other gods but him would likely command the burning of the Koran himself.
But that’s not the subject of this post. Over the last ten years the war on Christianity by the media, hollywood and other leftwing outlets makes you wonder at the overwhelming hypocrisy when it comes to the Koran burning issue. What if this had been a mosque holding a Bible burning party? Would Diane Sawyer ask “What would Mohammed do?” Of course Mohammed isn’t God or even a god, just a prophet of Islam. Nevertheless he did command the killing of what he called “infidels”. I guess that would mean burning their Bibles too.
What if Fox’s Family Guy gave Mohammed the same disrespect as they give Jesus? What if Christians called for Fatwas against the creators of such sacrilege. What if I called to have Seth Macfarlane beheaded for blasphemy? Muslims have him punked for he wouldn’t dare caricature Mohammed on one of his shows for Islamics would call for his head for sure. But why should we be so nice? As the Bible tells us that every knee shall bow to Christ – like it or not, believe it or not, Macfarlane will bow. I wonder what he will have to say to Jesus at that point. “Sorry” won’t quite make it by the way.
Perhaps it’s time that Christians stopped turning the other cheek. By the way we weren’t told to do that all the time. In fact we are commanded to take a stand for the faith. Perhaps we should start using fear and intimidation on those “infidels” that curse the name of our God and Savior.
Perhaps we should begin an organization called The Christian Anti-Defamation League. With over 175 million professed Christians in America that could bring considerable weight against anyone who would dare use the name of Christ in vain.
Perhaps. But this is America. Like it or not the good pastor has a right to burn a Koran. In fact he could burn one once a day if he liked. To take it further I’m thinking of burning one myself. In fact this muslim gal thinks that only some parts ought to be burned. If you’ve never seen one burn here is one.
While I don’t watch Family Guy, Seth Macfarlane has the right in America to produce it, even if it offends millions of Christians.
The media likes to talk about “rights” for religion but only when that religion isn’t Christianity or even Judaism. It has no problem pronouncing the rights of Islam, Buddhism, or any other religion accept Christianity or Judaism.
Why that is is patently obvious. They are the two religions that define what America is and the liberal media doesn’t like America. At least not the America as it was founded.
As I said, a monumental hypocrisy.
