They don’t get it.

“(CNN) – NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous, speaking at the “Reclaim the Dream” rally Saturday, castigated the message of the Glenn Beck rally across town in Washington.

“For a year and a half, we’ve been subjected to small hearts and small minds on our small screens,” he said, referring to conservative ideas on media. Beck is a conservative talk show host, with a program on Fox News as well as several radio programs.

Urging people to continue to fight for issues like health care and the ideas of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Jealous said, “It’s time to make sure our country – when they turn on the TV – sees itself reflected back.”

As I said before Dr. King would have nothing to do today with the NAACP or Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson, none of which have a clue about King’s dream. Let’s recap from this post back in January of 2009.

“King’s dream was that one day we would get past skin color and social class. That it wouldn’t make a difference what race, creed, nation, all men – and women – would be on equal ground. So that in an election such as the one past it wouldn’t matter if Barack Obama were black, or Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin were women, all would be considered on equal ground.

Instead we have plenty of divisions in our society, made that way in large part by the modern liberal movement which has now seized Washington. Liberals have divided this country along race and social class, the “two Americas”, the “haves and the have-nots”. They captioned ridiculous nomenclatures for Americans simply to reinforce their division. For instance the term “African American” would have angered Dr. King, for it too is a slander on the American dream and the fabric that makes us what we are. There are no African Americans, there are only Americans. There are no Asian Americans, only Americans. We are Americans. Barack Obama is an American and now the President of America, voted in by in large because of a false assumption that this fulfills Dr. King’s dream.

It instead continues the nightmare. Those who know this truth are therefore “less optimistic”.”

Restore Honor drew more people 200,000-300,000 est, than Sharpon’s 6-7000 because the former represents more of what America is looking for. Freedom to be who we are without the interference of our government. Todd Jealous and his types believe in the other way around, keeping us in the traps of faus racism, quotas, politically correct speech.

Dr. King believed in color blind society. Most of those at the Restoring Honor rally today believed that as well

Jealous and his ilk do not.
