In the past we associated racism with pictures of sheets and burning crosses, just ask Robert “Sheets” Byrd. Better yet, don’t, he’s dead. But this past week’s media love-fest with “victim” Shirley Sherrod brought to our attention what racism is today and Sherrod exemplifies that.
First, contrary to the left’s opinion, one can be black and racist. Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright are all examples of that. Sherrod’s words, the full context of those words in her speech reflect that racism, even though she – and her media buddies – claim it’s a message of redemption. Racism is defined.
1. A belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. A policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. Hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Shirley Sherrod is one angry woman, and regardless of what she says, she points that anger at whites. That’s racism folks.
Her response to Andrew Breitbart was a good example of that.
Watch the 1.51 minute mark of this interview.
By the way where is the apology to Andrew Breitbart for those out of line comments. Don’t hold your breath.
Watching Sherrod’s interviews this week, you would have thought she sat for a time under Jeremiah Wright.
On the first point of the definition of racism it works both ways. The New Racism, disguised as “Affirmation Action” or “Diversity” claims to promote equality does nothing of the kind, but instead promotes a “reverse discrimination”. Sherrod’s “journey” through “redemption” includes this indoctrination into racial superiority, but over whites by claiming “victimhood” for personal gain.
Shirley Sherrod believes that blacks – in receiving benefits – should be elevated above whites. She admitted as much in that tape and in the full context. The crowd in attendance at the NCCAP event agreed. That’s racism.
But this is the New Racism. It believes in the elevation of minorities, regardless of desert, over others – primarily whites – simply because of their race.
That’s racism. Shirley Sherrod is a product of this New Racism.
