“Officials are investigating whether the Austin, Texas, plane crash was an intentional act, an NTSB official told Fox News.

An NTSB spokesman, however, told FoxNews.com that “we can’t confirm any of that.”

Authorities said they have identified the pilot as Joseph Andrew Stack.

A small single-engine plane crashed into a seven-story office building in Austin around 10 a.m. local time Thursday.

Stuart Newberg was in the area right before the plane crashed. He said the plane was flying low and fast, according to The Statesman.com.

“It was flying low and fast and I did a double take,” Newberg said, according to the Web site.

“I thought it was a play remote control plane. Then I saw the smoke.”

He told the paper he thought the plane seemed “very controlled.”

MSNBC and CNN will have this as a “Tea Party, Rightwing Extremist Act” before the day is out. Watch.

UPDATE: Ok, that didn’t take long. Subject’s name Joe Stack. Educated, ex IRS software engineer who had enough it seems. Unknown political affiliation, but we’ll check on it. Here’s his statement, it’s not worth the reprinting. Call him a nut, a murderer a coward and leave it at that.

And oh yeah, the lefties are calling him a Tea Bagger. Figures.

UPDATE: Still no word on Mr. Coward’s political affiliation, although he seems a bit more left than right, “Bush a puppet”, railed against healthcare, etc. However speaking with a source with the FBI Stack doesn’t fit the profile of a “Right Wing Extremist” and indeed isn’t being considered one at this point.

That might be hard to take, but let’s remember that there are people angry at Barack Obama, his administration and who hate the government who sit on the left as well as the right. Again, it doesn’t matter, he was a punk and a coward.
