For dying of cancer I have great sympathy, as I too have had a few family members fall victim as well. But let’s not mark him a “hero” either. Ted Kennedy’s “legacy” was forever formalized on July 18th, 1969, when while driving drunk he drove off a bridge and saving himself, he let Mary Jo Kopechne to die a horrible death by drowning. Then even after this he lied about the circumstances only coming clean after it was clear he was in the wrong.
For all his “contributions”, let’s not forget he committed negligent homicide, continued drinking heavily afterwards and had numerous affairs. He was again, no hero.
No doubt know liberals will use his passing to trumpet the need for Universal Healthcare in “His Name”, count on it. The fact is it’s the last thing we should pass now that he’s dead. Let it go to dust just as he did.
Scott at Powerline, puts my disdain for the man into better words than I, noting just how far Kennedy would lie to get his point across, his will done, such as in the case of Robert Bork.
