I was all set to tee off on the overkill of Michael Jackson funeral coverage. He wasn’t a hero, or even such a great man, and not the King. There is only one King. The Anchoress “goes there”, so there’s no reason to top it.
But as I caught up on the news tonight, I was captured by the scene of Mr. Jackson’s little girl giving this speech, eulogizing her father.
Somehow, as a dad, it took all my disdain away.

1Sorry, Mac, putting Michael Jackson’s white child up on stage in front of 19,000 idiot fans was just too over the top for me. She is an child. Not an adult who can deal with the emotion. As a parent, aunt, uncle or grandparent, my job would have been to protect that child from the eyes of fans who wanted nothing more than a free concert.
If you want to know why Michael Jackson was so screwed up, just look at the Jackson family shoving this little girl into the spotlight and you have your answer.
