So much for being wiser than a white guy. Senator Sessions today brought out the worst in Sonia Sotomayor today.

Sessions took her to the woodshed and she came back with splinters.

Sotomayor comes off as flippant and angry, just what her supporters didn’t want to see. Her answer was disingenuous and deceitful. She said what she said and by all points we know she meant it and believes it.

Again, going into the hearings her public support was at the level of Harriet Myers, and although she may well be confirmed she’ll go into the chair scared and marked for the entirety of her tenure.
