“Randy Brinson, a conservative political consultant in Alabama, has been fielding anxious calls for weeks from business interests across the South.
Their concern is massive ad blitz on Christian and country-music stations across 10 states. The ads, funded by a left-leaning coalition, urge support for congressional legislation to curb greenhouse-gas emissions — by framing the issue as an urgent matter of Biblical morality.
“As our seas rise, crops wither and rivers run dry, God’s creation cries out for relief,” begins one ad, narrated by an evangelical megachurch pastor. Another opens with a reference to the Gospel of John, slams energy interests for fighting the bill, and concludes: “Please join the faithful in speaking out against the powerful.”
Here is a clue for the left, God doesn’t believe in “man-made” Global Warming. God-made yes. In fact they should be reminded that one day he will end the current word and remake it through – fire.
“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with Yahweh (the Lord) as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Yahweh (the Lord) is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of Yahweh (the Lord) will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of Elohim (God), wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness (2 Pet 3:7-13).”
Now we don’t know when that day will arrive, and indeed most lefties don’t believe in God anyway and therefore this prophesy means nothing. Doesn’t make it any less true. Yet it tells us that God – not man – will determine that day.
After all the assaults of the godless left on God’s people over the last 40 years, they have a lot of gaul trying to use God for their political ends.
UPDATE: Bill Kristol gets it right, “You just saw the beginning of the 2012 Campaign”.
