As the Sands through the Hourglass, so are the ….
Oh wait, that’s a soap opera intro. Well, blogging is a soap opera of sorts, and this post is about where Macsmind is going to over the next few months.
The focus will be changing from Politics to Technology.
Macsmind began over five years ago, first as a static website, then a blog, and spoke directly to politics. This right after my father died and we used to have the most wonderful conversations about politics and current events, and this blog filled that void when he left.
Over that time I’ve been a part of the story of some of the largest stories, from the Iraq War, through the elections of 2004, 2008, Katrina, Plame Game, and have enjoyed every bit of it. Macsmind has been mentioned over a 700 times in MSM articles, and linked by some of the largest blogs on the internet. To each of them who gave me such linkage, I’m thankful to you for helping out the little guy and giving him a voice.
But my number one passion is not politics, but computers, and specifically Apple Computers. I’ve owned Apple products from 1984 until the present day and have always been passionate about them, and that means talking about them, converted Window users to them. Professionally I’m a speaker, writer, and an Information Technology Analyst, and it’s time I used all three to carve a new niche for myself at the ripe age of 52.
Well I guess you have gathered by now that the name of the blog, “Macsmind” lends more to that venue than the political realm.
This doesn’t mean that after the blog changes that I won’t comment on politics, just not exclusively. Actually among computer users – especially Mac users, the majority of them are liberal minded, yet there are a few who are conservatives.
Additionally, it’s been said that the GOP needs to gain computer knowledge and become more “tech savy”, and I plan to offer my services to that end.
The MacRanger Show will also change beginning July 1st to cover specifically the Mac, iPod, iPhone and other Apple products and technologies. Again, from time to time I will cover politics especially when it involves technology or when it affects the computer world.
To my long time readers and supporters, numbering in the thousands, to each I want to thank you and hope you’ll stick around and continue to drop by.
The change will take full effect by July 30, but in the meantime you’ll begin to notice subtle site changes as I get the site ready.
Again, thanks.
