As I’ve thought about how bad Pelosi looked yesterday during her presser where she twisted and contorted and tried to lie her way out what facts now tell us, I began to see something that made me feel all jiggy inside.

This is what we’ve been waiting for.

For the last five years Democrats have been allowed – through the media – to define the interrogation debate. Attempting – successfully until now – that only Bush and Republicans were in on the “secret” program. We now know that isn’t true and that indeed many Democrats, including Pelosi, Bob Graham, Jay Rockefeller all were briefed and had knowledge of the program. No matter how much Pelosi denies, it’s simply a fact that that the American people have already accepted.

Still as she plays this blame game on the CIA and the Bush Administration, I again welcome the Democrats to open up even more and have their hearings, because then ALL the information will come forward.

Now as I’ve said before, the interrogation programs used were both legal at the time they were used and effective. That too is an established fact. We also know that the Bush administration went to great lengths to carefully catalog events, opinions so that it shows that not only did they follow the law by keeping congress briefed, they were studious in making sure that what was being done was within the laws of the United States, specifically during a time of war.

As Pelosi and Democrats go forward with the “Nobody told us” charade, the GOP needs to use this to our advantage. Dick Cheney is doing an effective job of informing the American people about the success they had with keeping America safe – again an established fact – but he doesn’t have to be the only one.

It’s becoming clear that Americans realize it as well.
