Another reason his “snap decision” to sign an order without thinking it through. You simply cannot close Gitmo. Today’s Washington Post blames the Bush administration – bad case records- but the simple fact is that those 245 terror suspected are there for a reason, and letting any of them go – just arbritarily could come back to bite America in the butt. As it already has. AFP is reporting that two ex Gitmo inmates are now appearing in an Al Qaeda Video.
“Two men released from the US “war on terror” prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba have appeared in a video posted on a jihadist website, the SITE monitoring service reported.
One of the two former inmates, a Saudi man identified as Abu Sufyan al-Azdi al-Shahri, or prisoner number 372, has been elevated to the senior ranks of Al-Qaeda in Yemen, a US counter-terrorism official told AFP.
Three other men appear in the video, including Abu al-Hareth Muhammad al-Oufi, identified as an Al-Qaeda field commander. SITE later said he was prisoner No. 333.”
Thirty some years ago while working the DMZ in Korea we captured a couple of North Korean regulars. After bringing them in for questioning, we also feed them, clothed them and even nursed one back to health as all three were showing signs of malnutrition.
Then after offering them asylum in the South, and they declined, we returned them in a ceremony at Panmunjom. I’ll never forget them walking across the demarkation line, stripping off the clothing we gave them, spitting on the ground that designated our side and finally flipping us off as they walked back to tyranny.
We can expect nothing less of these prisoners who now – including five of the 9/11 suspects – to do any less.

1It does not take a political science major to figure out that there is going to be a high percentage of recidivism of these terrorists. Look to the example of our own penal system.
The released and/or potential releasees are Islamofacists and want to kill infedels at no matter what the costs.
President Obama is misguided in his point of view that his name or the words to appease these Islamofascists is going to create peace. These peoples ideology can’t be changed and they will only stop when they are made extinct. There will always be sympathizers of their cause. Just look at Hamas and the Palestinians. Most Islamic countries are oppressive and will not allow equality in education. Therefore, these countries will always be breeding beds for terrorism.
Additionally, with the continuance of the drone attacks in Pakistan, President Obama has almost assuredly made himself enemy number one in the eyes of the Islamofascists. NBow he has to deal with it. Releasing the Gitmo detainees back into Arab countries is a sure way to get out militaries men and women killed. What is the logic here.
In regards to reassigning the detainees to MCB Camp Pendleton or MCAS Miramar, we don’t want them………….PERIOD! The danger is not the fact that a detainee could escape because that would not happen. It’s the fact that like minded sympathizers could possibly carry out a terrorist attack on one of these two bases to make a point, thus killing or injuring military and civilians. If either one of the bases were to be used, that base would have to increase its level of security and most likely renovate the prisons to accomodate the detainees. This would be an enormous cost to the American tax payer.
Leave them in Cuba, or as a last resort house each one of them in a seperate prison with the general populace and that should do it!
