The subject of this story isn’t the moron who threw a shoe, it’s the coolness of the President of the United States.
It’s a reflection of George Bush’s true character, fearless and unmoved, he took it in stride. No matter what anyone thinks, that’s leadership.
Saying that, let’s be thankful it was only a shoe and not a weapon, and who ever is in charge of the President’s security detail on this trip – they’re fired.
Pretty quick reflexes there. Note Secret Service team head was late to react, yet Bush waved him off. Again, quite a bit of bravery.
The so-called “journalist” is Muntadar al-Zaidi, who works for a newspaper “resistance” group out of Cairo.
“Christmas comes early for the left. As one of our commenters snarked in Headlines, between this and the fact that the guy’s in media, he’s now qualified for his own show on MSNBC.”
I wonder if Keith Olbermann supplied the shoes.
UPDATE: Gateway Pundit has more links and stuff on the story.
