“CHICAGO – President-elect Barack Obama said Monday a review by his own lawyer shows he had no direct contact with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich about the appointment of a Senate replacement, and transition aides “did nothing inappropriate.”
Obama said he is prepared to make the review public, but decided to hold off because prosecutors asked for a delay and “I don’t want to interfere with an ongoing investigation.”
Controversy has swirled around the president-elect and his incoming White House chief of staff, Rep. Rahm Emanuel, following Blagojevich’s arrest last week on charges he schemed to trade Obama’s Senate seat for personal gain.”
Excuse me, a lawyer (Obama) needs another lawyer to determine whether he had any direct contact with Blagojevich? We already know of the second part that Rahm Immanuel had a lot of contact on different occasions with Blagojevich’s people about Obama’s replacement. For all his talk of “changing the way Government works” he’s sure doing a good job of keeping the status quo.
But if you think doing an investigation on yourself is “slimey”…
“Spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said that the office won’t release details of its review until the week of Dec. 22.
That’s Christmas week, when few people will be paying attention and when Obama plans to be celebrating the holiday in Hawaii — not in Chicago, which has been the focal point of the federal investigation.”
Dude’s got a set, fortunately Fitzgerald isn’t impressed and will do his own interviews thank you!
“United States Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald confirmed the request for a delay in a statement, saying the extra time will allow his office to “conduct certain interviews.”
In other words, it’s not over yet Barry!

1Perhaps Obama should call Serpico. It seems to me this is a case of the bad cop investigating other bad cops. Since when does the suspect do his own investigation.
Now it’s being reporting that Obama pick, Bill Richardson, is being investigated for improper campaign donations from a company that was awared a contract for a heafty sum.
Damn, it’s going to be a long four years and the guy’s not even sworn in yet.
Will the MSM ever notice that the stuff on the bottom of Obama’s shiney shoes is not clover?

2I think the better question retire05 is will the media ever care?
They worked so hard to not tarnish Obama that they would be made to look the fool if they admitted now they had made a mistake.
I say that with tongue in cheek for those of us who think the majority of the press in this country now consists of fools.

3Not to worry guys. This dude is setting himself up to be a colossal failure. From his appointments and their stated goals while in office it looks like he is going to spin wheels and look busy while pouring billions more down the same rat holes Lyndon Johnson started years ago. All of them believe in man made global warming and their no one aim is to stop us evil Americans from producing co2 by exhaling and passing gas. Anyone with half a brain would realize that if the eruption of one volcano produces as much green house gasses as man has produced in the past hundred years and global warming and cooling is directly connected to sun spot activity, that whatever feeble efforts we make in controlling our bodily functions is not going to make a difference. Their sole ambition is to wean us off fossil fuels and get us on wind, solar and bio fuels. Wind as the solution is a pipe dream. None of the wind technology has proved to produce the amt. of reliable energy we will need to maintain out present lifestyles. And it would take wall to wall windmills across the country to make a difference. The problem with solar is that the sun gets so hot it melts down the generators. And the sun doesn’t shine all the time just as the wind doesnt’ blow all the time. Bio fuels have already created a world food crisis, so he can either keep our cars running or put food on our tables. Some choice. So his whole plan is doomed for failure because it is based on false science. But he will bankrupct the country, if it isn’t already bankrupct from all the pseudo govt. efforts to create a level playing field where the down right dumb and the super smart are treated as equals and everybody is required by law to treat all as if they are all super smart. This is bourne out by the fact that our government spends more on educating those who will never make it in life than they do on educating the super smart so our country can compete in the global markets. There is no way we can comptete when businesses are required by law to hire the less than most qualified because someone’s feelings might be hurt if he doesn’t get into the most elite college or get the best job. The fact is some people are smarter than others. (notice how someone keeps posting Obama’s IQ score on internet pop ups purporting to prove he is the smartest man alive. His IQ is 139, Bush’s 116 etc.)
A little noticed recent announcement that the much vilified Bush administration has licensed a black boxed mini nuclear power plant, which sells for about $25 million and can supply power for a medium sized town, received no mention in the MSM and only one tiny blip on the internet. It comes encased in concrete and can be buried in the ground so there is no chance of a nuclear accident or danger from terrorist attacks. So it looks like the man we have been repeatedly told was the dumbest President since Ronald Reagan, has managed to solve our power problems under the noses of the pseudo environmentalists who’s main goal is the shut down the USA and prove it as big a failure as their beloved Soviet Union type Communism. With all the tools that have been used to delay and deny permits for any and all kinds of power producing instalations, Bush has managed to solve the problem under these nut case’s noses . But Bush won’t get credit for it. Want to bet that Obama will claim this victory as his own?
So watch this moron get his come upance as he pours more and more money down rat holes to prove that technology demanded by pseudo scientist who have no idea what they are talking about. If wind and solar were vaable alternatives, somesone would hav already harnesses them. After all they are free.
