As expected the Obama Loving media got their proverbial collective ass shown to them again by the revelation of Obama “Coal Tape”. Already they’re on the defense calling it something “everyone already knew”, which of course is bullshit. The fact is the the San Francisco Chronicle – who covered the original story – failed to mention the “bankrupt coal industry” part. As it has over the last two years it took the “Pajama Media” to bring the truth to the American people, the MSM was too busy polishing their Obama pins.

Yet just as with the story of Obama’s illegal alien – Government assistance guzzling aunt, it didn’t have to get to the last two days to be discovered if the media had been doing their job in the first place instead of protecting their golden child.

You can bet that if McCain had a kid tied in the closet or something they would have dug it up by now and splashed it on the front page.

The fact of the media is so enthralled with the story – the being on the precept of history – of the possibility of the first Black President being elected, that it wouldn’t matter if even Obama had a kid tied in the closet – they wouldn’t report it. In fact they would come up with some excuse why the kid deserved to be tied up in the closet.

But they’re really only setting themselves up for failure in the end. Let’s say – we hope it’s not true – but just for kicks and giggles that Jive Monster and his Diarrhea at the Mouth infected sidekick get to the big dance along with expected democratic majorities. What will they write about then?

Will we read every day of how Obama got up this morning, brushed his teeth and had a nice day with a bluebird dancing on his shoulder? Hardly.

Remember that the press protected Bill Clinton in 1992 during the election but after he won it wasn’t long before they began to work him over. You can expect the same and even more so with Obama.

For while the press is in the can now for Obama, and only so to see – and to be there on the day when history is made – the fact is that after the election you will see a different story.

For while the press has treated him through these last two years with gloves off the ONE has treated the press like a stepchild. Kicking them off airplanes, denying interviews (so far Obama hasn’t given a solid interview in over 30 days), and generally pissing many journalists off. Like I said they want him to win not so much because of any philosophical agreements, but because as journalists they were taught from the first class in college to be on the scene when history is made. The only problem is that they’re making damn sure that history is made and thus protect Obama from scrutiny until he’s elected.

But then the gloves will have to come off, they’ll have no choice. Nobody wants to read about the minority party. If they follow politics at all it’s all about the party in power, thus the magnifying glass will finally come out.

When it does people will ask – as they did about Clinton – “Why didn’t anyone tell us these things?”

If you go back you’ll learn that the decline of public trust of the media began about 15 years ago as people began to read things about Bill Clinton that they never heard about before he was elected.

We are beginning to see some of this early ONLY because the new media is now rivaling and in some cases – such as the Drudge Report – exceeding the reach that hitherto only the MSM had.

It’s a new day. But when it’s said and done the loser will be the American people. Who when faced with the choice of selecting the leader of their country were not given the truth to make an informed decision. If the media thinks it’s readership and bottom line sucks now, they haven’t seen anything yet.
