The morons at TPM blame the fact that Obama has an aunt who is in the country illegally and on public assistance as the fault of a “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”.
“Here’s how the right’s big eleventh-hour smear on Obama was carried out.
First the Murdoch-owned Times of London reported Thursday that Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, is living in a Boston public-housing complex. It’s unclear how the paper learned of the woman’s presence in the U.S.
From there, the story quickly got taken up by the right-wing echo chamber. Fox News (also Murdoch-owned, of course), Drudge, the Boston Herald, and various conservative blogs — as well as some mainstream outlets — began breathlessly hyping the story.”
No, it’s a result of the media doing it’s job for once, reporting the FACT that Obama has an aunt who is in the country illegally and drawing public assistance.
Oh, and that the used some of that cash to give her nephew a $260 campaign donation.
UPDATE: Funny. The Obama Apologetic:
“HENDERSON, Nev. — Barack Obama did not know a relative was living in the United States illegally for the past four years prior to today’s Associated Press report, “but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed,” the campaign said Saturday in a statement.
The Democratic nominee last heard from Zeituni Onyango, who attended his swearing-in ceremony to the U.S. Senate in 2004 and is a half-sister of Obama’s late father, two years ago, when she called to say she was in Boston, the campaign said. Campaign officials said they did not assist her in getting a tourist visa and had not known that she was living in America.
News of Onyango’s legal status, which the AP confirmed through sources, including a federal law enforcement official, provided an unwelcome diversion for the Obama campaign during its final push toward Election Day and stoked suspicions among supporters of a political motive behind the timing of the leak.
“The American people are pretty sensible,” Axelrod said, “and I think they are pretty suspicious of things that are dumped in the marketplace 72 hours before a campaign, so I am not concerned about that.”
Asked whether he was suggesting there were political motives from a Republican administration, Axelrod said: “I am not saying anything at this point.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers has written to Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff requesting an immediate investigation of the leak, which he deemed “deplorable” and said “was not the first leak of law enforcement information apparently designed to influence the coming presidential election,” referring to an ongoing investigation of voter fraud by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.
Again, it doesn’t change the FACT that Obama’s aunt is an illegal alien who has been receiving public assistance. Whoever leaked this information – if anyone – deserves a medal for alerting the American public.
Noteworthy that these same concerns of the meida were not voiced when in 2004 leak after leak appeared in the news just before the presidential election in order to damage Bush’s chance at the polls.
The hypocrisy…the middle name of Liberalism.
By the way, it appears that the Obama Campaign may be the subject of an investigation itself as to whether they knew about Aunti Illegal and whether or not they told her to keep quiet.

1Why all the explaining has to come from Obama’s side? Because that is the side of the debate that always seems to have problems!
When will the people have enough of listening to problems and what will they do? Pull the lever for anybody else but Obama on tuesday: end of problems!!

2Oh yes, anything negative that manages to get past Stalin Jr.’s “truth squads” can only be the work of a small group of bandits known as the VRWC
