Recorded during the Odyssey Radio Program in Chicago on their public radio channel in September of 2001. Listen for the quote at about the 8 minute mark of the recording.
What he discussed was that the Constitution is essentially a flawed document that it’s framers had “blind spots” when creating it.
Unbelievable.

UPDATE: More to this interview than we could imagine. Via STACLU Obama also talked about the “redistribution of wealth”.
This is solid proof that Obama is a socialist by his own words.
“You know, if you look at the victories and failures of the civil-rights movement, and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at a lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it, I’d be okay, but the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.
And uh, to that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution — at least as it’s been interpreted, and Warren Court interpreted it in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: [It] says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.
And that hasn’t shifted, and one of the, I think, the tragedies of the civil-rights movement was because the civil-rights movement became so court-focused, uh, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change. And in some ways we still suffer from that.”
More?
You know, I’m not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts. The institution just isn’t structured that way. [snip] You start getting into all sorts of separation of powers issues, you know, in terms of the court monitoring or engaging in a process that essentially is administrative and takes a lot of time. You know, the court is just not very good at it, and politically, it’s just very hard to legitimize opinions from the court in that regard.
So I think that, although you can craft theoretical justifications for it, legally, you know, I think any three of us sitting here could come up with a rationale for bringing about economic change through the courts.”
UPDATE: As expected Obama’s minions in the media come to his defense. But it’s not going to wash, this is bad for campaign Obama, real bad. It finally nails him as the socialist that the media tried to hard to hide from Americans. Now they will know.

11. Considering Obama’s belief that Constitution is a “fundamentally flawed document which reflects enormous blindspot in this culture that carries on until this day” it is much easier to understand his association to Wright, Ayers and Khalidi. There is an indisputable, intrinsic coherence between Obama’s philosophy, politics, actions and associations.
2. Would it not be ironic that the man sworn to defend the constitution of the United States think he is defending a fundamentally flawed document? How could anyone doubt his sincerity? sarcasm/

2The sad thing about this is every single Obama supporter who hears this wont care. Half of his supporters think he is the Messiah and arent too fond of the Constitution anyway and the other half are just too stupid and uneducated to understand how dangerous he is.

3Bob (the Manure Spreader) Beckel was just on Fox explaining that Obama was talking about school taxes, not income taxes, in the 2001 radio show. Nice try, Beckel. Obama never mentioned school taxes, now did he?
And just when you think William Ayers might go away, Amazon.com is taking orders for Ayers/Dohrn’s new revolutionary guide book aptly titled
“Race Course Against White Supremacy”.
You see to have a revolution, you have to have two factors; the revolutionists who feel they have been oppressed and those being revolted against who are viewed as the oppressors. What better way to do this than to create racial strife and create dissention amoung one segment of society against another?
Obama, and his friend William Ayers, will destroy every gain we have made in race relations since Martin Luther King, Jr. pleaded for the nation to judge a man on the content of his character, not the color of his skin.
One only has to go to thomas.gov and research Obama’s bills. What bills are of substance (not just naming a day after someone you never heard of) are clearly Afro-centric, and designate money for a primarily African American concern.
It IS time to put our racial barriers behind us. It IS time to judge a person on the content of the character. Unfortunately, Senator Obama is more like James Cone than Martin Luther King, Jr.

4In an interview on the Colorado Springs station KOAA yesterday (video available at POLITICO and HotAIR among others), Obama said: “I don’t think we’re going to have time to engage in a bunch of crazy things that people, the McCain campaign specifically, has suggested we might.”
Obama does not think he will have the time to engage in crazy things; what does that say about the case if he suddenly finds the time?
It is unbelievable to hear somebody asking for your support/vote saying that only lack of time will stop him from engaging in stupid things.
Anybody voting for Obama will get their just reward and they do so being fully warned by none other than Obama.

6“…just to take a, sort of a realist perspective…there’s a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of. I mean you’ve got World War II, you’ve got uh, uh, uh, the doctrines of Nazism, that, that we are fighting against, that start looking uncomfortably similar to what we have going on, back here at home.”

7Obama is talking about the Civil Rights movement when he made the comment. I hope you agree changes needed to be made in the U.S. and I hope you agree the founding fathers and the U.S. government were responsible for 200 plus years of racism. It is a shame it took that long. Obama is not saying the entire constitution is flawed…he’s saying it has allowed racism to exist because the courts needed to use the Constitution to make their decisions. The idea of “spreading the wealth” wouldn’t be necessary if it weren’t for our white ancestors (and government) holding people back from succeeding. If making one race sit at the back of the bus, use different drinking fountains, refuse to hire a man or woman because of the color of his/her skin, and pass laws that allowed this to happen isn’t holding someone back then I don’t know what is.

8Obama said: “I don’t think we’re going to have time to engage in a bunch of crazy things that people, the McCain campaign specifically, has suggested we might.”
The image is correct when it’s stated this man is a suit with content or soul. Radical change and spreading the wealth is in direct opposition of our founding fathers and the Constitution we hold to be true.
It’s unbelievable how people are mesmerized by this man! Crowds don’t make a person right. They are like sheep being led to slaughter. He has cast a spell on the liberals, democrats and youth of our country with empty promises and a sword behind the cloak.
Guess I don’t see conservatives and the McCain/Palin ticket as crazy in any way, shape or form. Nor is he one to talk.
