Another day, another black revisionist attempting to lay “racism” on the GOP. Bob Herbert writing an oped in the “now for almost free, get’em while their hot” Ny Times blathers:
“I applaud the thousands of people, many of them poor, who traveled from around the country to protest in Jena, La., last week. But what I‚Äôd really like to see is a million angry protesters marching on the headquarters of the National Republican Party in Washington.
Enough is enough. Last week the Republicans showed once again just how anti-black their party really is.
The G.O.P. has spent the last 40 years insulting, disenfranchising and otherwise stomping on the interests of black Americans.”
Of course as typical, he doesn’t mention that Bill Clinton did absolutely nothing to help the passage of any law in relation to “DC Vote”. Petty details.
I don’t know where Mr. Herbert got his facts, but he’s solidly wrong on serveral points notwithstanding who is the party of racism. It’s NOT the GOP, that dishonor remains solely with the Democrats.
In his “40 years of recounting” he fails to mention how the Democrat Party, nearly as a whole stood against the Voting Rights act of 1964. Who could forget Robert KKK Byrd’s 14 hour and 13 minute filibuster in opposition? Appropriately to this day he is called the conscience of the Senate for Democrats. More than 40 percent of the votes against the act were Democrat.
In fact counting “26 major civil rights votes from 1933 through the 1960’s civil rights era shows that Republicans favored civil rights in approximately 96% of the votes, whereas the Democrats opposed them in 80% of the votes!”
Remember that “the South” of the 50s and 60s was led by Democrats. Herbert is typical of the Democrat revisionist who have nearly successfully painting the Republican party with their war paint.
UPDATE: Gateway Pundit with more facts of who is the party of racism.
UPDATE II: For the lefties who are barking…”Oh yeah, we was like that then but now we are different”. Oh really? Roll the tape:
Like on “The Plantation“.
Oh Joe! How about “Clean Blacks”? Do they too work at the 7/11?
Of course Biden thinks that blacks are too stupid to care for themselves anyway - the foundation liberalism is that minorities are too stupid to care for themselves.
Conservatives believe that anyone can be anyone or anything they strive to become. Big difference.
Let’s not leave out the MSM and their constant reference to one’s color above their character, such as in “The Magic Negro“.
Or of lefty bloggers such as Jane Hamsher using “blackface” with abandon.
Don’t forget this shot of Michael Steele by another (now deceased) lefty blogger.
Yeah….changed.

1In 1988 then Gov. Bill Clinton was sued for “Racial Profiling.”
In 1989 he was sued for “Voter Intimidation”, seems he didn’t like the way blacks were voting.
Am I the only one who finds it kind of odd that someone proven “guilty without a doubt” of commiting “HATE CRIMES” is so popular with the black community?

Funny how he used the 40 year cutoff.

7bill oreilly, premier republican water carrier, on faux radio…
“…I couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship. It was the same, and that’s really what this society’s all about now here in the USA. There’s no difference. There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer,’ I think you know what that probably means, ” ‘I want more iced tea.’ You know, I mean, everybody was — it was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn’t any kind of craziness at all.”
yup - y’all are an enlightened bunch indeed.

8OK jay k. ass what part isn’t true in your opinion? Let me guess. The part where blacks aren’t different from other people right?

10So jay k. ass, I guess it’s safe to asume by your comment that you believe blacks are different from other people.
Is that why you support racist like the Clinton’s?

you don’t seem to understand what it is that o’really said. what he said is that he “couldn’t get over the fact that” blacks aren’t different from other people. in general i don’t support racists, although no one is perfect. i did not and will not vote for a clinton. you seem, based on the evidence, easily confused by complex sentences, prone to misjudgment, and jump easily to conclusions not based on facts or evidence.

The fact of the matter is that I, like anyone else half a step ahead of an idiot, recognised immediately that your statement from BOL was taken out of context. This was confirmed by Juan Williams on BOL last night. So once again it is confirmed that lefties, such as yourself, have to lie to try and make a point.
There are two groups of people that support the left:
Those that are too ignorant to know they are being lied to, and those that know they are being lied to and are just too stupid to care.
Simple question:
When you posted the statement from BOL were you too ignorant to know it was taken out of context?

you swallowed o’reallys story hook line and sinker didn’t you? i’m sure you do the same with all the rnc talking points. have you ever had an independent thought? please, i beg you…tell me exactly what is out of context.

14also,
“…there are two groups of people that support the left…” you are a regular genius aren’t you? is this what passes for thinking for you? it is gross generalizations like this lie at the heart of racism.

Juan Williams is the one that was having the conversation with BOL. JW is the one that has confirmed the statement is taken out of context.
Maybe this is too complicated for you to understand, but the people having a conversation are the ones to determine the context of the statements in the conversation, not people outside of the conversation.
For example, if someone were to listen to a conversation between two people that work in the oilfields, they might think they were listening to a conversation between dope dealers because they would be using words like dope, joints, tripping. Get the picture?
Name me a group besides the ignorant or stupid that supports the positions of the left. Can’t do that. Then give me one position of the left that’s not based on lies.

16again - slower - what was taken out of context? williams is a paid foil to o’really on fox. hardly an un-biased observer. please explain what is out of context. this is probably too complex for you to understand but when people are on the radio or television then listeners and viewers are part (albeit passive) of the conversation. perhaps you are unable to judge context for yourself without the folks at faux news telling you what it is. at this point based on what you have said i wouldn’t be suprised. but then again maybe you’ll suprise me…so again…please explain what is out of context.

17Ok I will try and get a little slower for you.
You have taken a small part of an overall conversation and reached a conclusion about the conversation from this small part. That’s called taking something out of context.
You’re not ignorant of the fact there was more to the conversation than what you posted here are you?
jay k.
September 26th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
18yes there was more. what is your point? it does not change the context, or the meaning. oreally, a top level water carrier for the white house and the republicans, is “couldn’t get over the fact” that blacks are not different from the italians in the suburbs. until you can explain how that is out of context, we will just assume it is in context.
what oreally does is probably too subtle and complicated for someone like you to understand so let me help you. he portrays all black people as either disciples of al sharpton or jesse jackson, or straight-up rap gangsters. then he seems shocked that not everyone fits his skewed stereotype. to people like you he can sell that as a compliment because you are unable to reason it through. the reality is that the differences between the customers at syvias and oreallys imaginary italian restaurant have not been any different for a long time. but rascists cannot see that. it’s like you and your two types of supporters for the left. it’s total bs…but you believe it.

19Congradulations, you just proved my point.
BOR and JW have both said basicly that was the point of their conversation, but because a small part of their conversation was taken out of context, the mental midgets of the left had jumped to the wrong conclusion.
