Now that Normal Hsu is back custody more and more stories are surfacing of his campaign dealings. Via the Philly Inquirer:
“MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. - This is your typical tiny borough in the anthracite region, an out-of-the-way enclave of old rowhouses where you can buy lunch at Yanni’s Family Restaurant and still get change back from a $5 bill.
Nothing much happens here, except on fall Fridays, when folks root for the Red Tornadoes, the high school football team. But for the politically observant, Mount Carmel, Pa., is a name that in recent days has been drawing national attention and lots of questions.
Three of the town’s 6,300 residents have been caught up in a saga involving hundreds of thousands of dollars in questionable campaign contributions to some of the biggest names in national politics.
Since 2004, three managers of a plastics manufacturing plant on the outskirts of this Northumberland County town have given more than $270,000 to top Democrats, including Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Dianne Feinstein, and Edward M. Kennedy.
What makes those donations unusual - besides that they came from a blue-collar coal town not known for large political checks - is that they closely track the pattern of giving by Norman Hsu, the self-described apparel executive and two-time fugitive who was apprehended in Colorado late Thursday.
Federal authorities, according to published reports, are investigating whether Hsu used a network of associates to skirt campaign contribution limits and broaden his political reach.”
Now to be fair just because Hsu is a dirty crook doesn’t mean that all those democrats he gave to through funnel families like the Paw and this factory managers are dirty - does it?
Well if we apply “The Abramoff Factor” that Dems applies to Republicans who in most cases merely had their picture taken with him, then yeah they’re just as dirty.
We’ll see as more and more of the dots get connected.

1The exact relationship between Danny Lee, Soe Win Lee and Yu-Fen Huang - managers at Newspring Packaging in Mount Carmel - and Hsu remains murky.
It sure is interesting that these three have Chinese names too. More of the Clinton’s Chi-Coms Connection???? hmmmmm…. Inquiring minds want to know.

2It also seems this started earlier than 2004.
The records show that Components Ltd., a company controlled by Mr. Hsu that has no obvious business purpose and appears to exist only on paper, has paid a total of more than $100,000 to at least nine people who made campaign contributions to Mrs. Clinton and others through Mr. Hsu. The payments occurred in the spring of 2003, several months before Mr. Hsu emerged as a contributor to Democrats and more than a year before he started bundling checks from those same people for various campaigns. In all, he has raised more than $1 million for Democrats.

3I find it amazing that Hsu who did a Ponzi scheme thing here and also declared bankruptcy here went back to Hong Kong and also eventually declared bankruptcy there could have done such a rebound here to enable all the money situations he is documented for.
A true wheeler and dealer snake oil salesman if ever there was one.
I am making no accusations of motives or methods, I am only working collection of the dots and noting patterns and some really weird statistical oddities.
He may be clean, his donors may be clean.
But when you put it all into how stuff ranked and patterns of even well off power brokers Hsu is breaking all the molds of how things usually shake out.
But when all the donors hit on the same small grouping of 30 or so candidates mostly out of their state and a lot of them never voted and beyond that they do little in state where it would most likely effect their day to day situation it raises flags.
It brings enough question marks to warrant a full investigation and maybe some law changes that will require documentation of who the bundler is.
In effect bundlers are acting as an anonymous mini PAC without any oversight.
