Senator Craig’s only crime apparently was being stupid. Stupid that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time with a cop with an obvious (according to the entire tape) agenda. Nevertheless it could be argued that as a US Senator he shouldn’t have been in that wrong place at the wrong time - if in fact going to the bathroom is wrong. But his ousting shows just much in trouble we in the GOP with the current group of clowns we have in the GOP running the show.
Additionally let’s be clear, Craig was ousted because the GOP hasn’t the courage to fight for their own. It’s that lack of courage that cost them the 2006 election and will cost them further in 2008 unless we clean house between now and then. Additionally the only reason the uber right blogsphere called for his head is because he supported the President’s immigration plan. You all know that I was against that plan as well, but at least I had the moral integrity not to hide behind feigned outrage of Craig’s behavior as some on the punditry of the right have.
However one good thing will emerge from all of this - a higher standard of behavioral standards. You will note that while democrats and the left have demanded resignations of Republicans - such as Tom Delay, Alberto Gonzales whenever there ever appeared to be even the hint of impropriety, they don’t demand the same of their own. Whether it be an indicted congressman (William “Dollar Bill” Jefferson), Senator (Land deal) Harry Reid, Senator Diane Feinstein, Rep. Jack (kickback) Murtha, it would seem that according to liberals the bar is higher for the right.
Not anymore. If Democrats were true behind what they say they believe they would be calling for William Jefferson to resign his seat. Won’t happen because they don’t believe what they say.
But where is the same outrage that the GOP had of Craig towards William Jefferson? Why don’t we have Mitch McConnell who just about sent Craig a cab to get out of town pounding the podium demanding Jefferson resign immediately?
Simple, no backbone, no - as we said in 2004 - core. We shoot our wounded, while winking and looking the other way at those on the other side.
If the present leaders of the GOP continue this behavior of giving up without a fight then we are going to begin to move to oust them for people who have the guts - not to defend wrong, that’s not what I’m saying, but who will call Democrats on their BS and show us that they something between their legs besides their tails.
We need to elect people who not only know how to command a majority, but how to keep it. We need people who don’t duck and cover everytime democrats want to throw some crap up against the wall to see if it sticks. We need the type of people who would have told Senator Chuck (the plumber) Schumer and his friend, Joe Wilson, to pound salt and not bend over and let them shove a maniacal prosecutor up their rectum for two years.
Again, let me be clear. I hold my elected officials to a high standard and I believe that Senator Craig should have never even put himself in the position of having his conduct called into question. But a three term Senator deserved a least a hearing out before his peers before being literally stabbed in the back by a group of gutless wonders.

1The Dems have no standard to hold people to.

2In one sentence Kathie has solved the entire mess. Nothing embarrasses the Democrats, there is no one they will not surrender to, it makes no difference to them who contributes to their
efforts to defeat America. As long as it is not good for America, its OK with them. The Democrats have no standards.

3How long has Ronnie Earle tried to throw crap at Tom DeLay to see if he can make it stick? How many grand juries did Earle have to appeal to before he could come up with a charge? And in the end, what has DeLay been convicted of? Certainly he is cleaner that William Jefferson? And how many Republicans have been involved in the death of a young woman only to spend another 40 years in the Senate? How many negotiated with the enemy only to remain in the Senate?
But DeLay, like Craig, fell on his own sword (a sword I am sure was laid on Craig’s desk personally by McConnell who said nothing before he walked out) for the good of the party and to end the constant harranging by the Democrats.
I am sick of it and informed the RNC that they get no one more dime from me until they clease house of the RINOs like Lindsey Grahamsty and grow a set.
The Democrats feared men like Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay so they worked harder to get rid of them that they would ever consider working toward ridding our nation of those terrorist who are just waiting for the right moment to create another 9/11.
And we let them.

5Unfortunately, the people of Idaho are the ones that wanted Craig OUT…they felt he could NOT win re-election. They know that as an incumbent Jim Risch will be re-elected.
It’s the people who’ve been screaming their heads off. So Senator McConnell felt he had NO choice but to ask Craig to step aside.
I know this case was ridiculous but Craig tried to hide it and plead guilty to disorderly conduct [not a smart move]. That particular restroom was known for this type of activity. And Craig picked it. Most of the people that supported him in Idaho…felt he was guilty as sin and did not want this man to represent them any longer. THEY WANTED HIM OUT.

6“That particular restroom was known for this type of activity. And Craig picked it.”
You are suggesting that Craig picked this particular restroom for it’s “meat market” reputation? How do you know that? What about other men who use that particular restroom while they are at that airport? Are they all “cruising” for hookups?
What an absurd statement.

7That’s what the people of Idaho know for a fact. I’m just telling you what they’ve been saying. I never thought Craig should’ve resigned.
You tell them it’s an absurd statement…I’m just passing on what’s been told to me.
If the people of Idaho hadn’t been screaming their heads off over this, Craig would NOT have resigned.

8Shield, since when is rumor accepted as fact? Have any of those Idahoians been in a bedroom with Craig so that they can say without reservation that Craig is gay? And so what if he is?
Do we elect politicians because of their sexual proclivity or because we think they will represent our views?
You provide no link for the voters of Idaho screaming for his head. But I will tell you this, Craig was the sacraficial lamb that the Republicans offered up to the Democrats this season. And now you can sit and wonder, who will be next because if you think this will sate the Democrat’s thirst for Republican blood, you are dead wrong. This will only fuel the fire for them to demand more and more resignations to back up their “culture of corruption” claims as November, ‘08 gets nearer.
And you can be proud in having a hand in allowing the Democrats to continue their “culture of intimidation” to destroy Republicans.

9Here go to this site and put in their search engine: Craig
http://www.freerepublic.com
You’ll find an over abundance of Craig threads. There are 1000’s of replies on these threads and only a very few of US defended him. I was creamed so many times…I felt bloody. Many of those posters live in the state of Idaho. All of them are conservatives and republicans. And most of them raised so much hell with the senate leadership…to force Craig to resign. It was the people of Idaho and throughout the USA…that pushed extremely hard for Craig’s resignation. I WAS NOT ONE OF THEM. I defended him from the get-go. All I did here was report what happened that forced Craig to resign.
And you sir…have attacked me, when I defended him…and have lost friends over that defense. SHAME ON YOU.
